What is a vacation? A vacation is a time for peaceful meditation with time to reflect on life, and a time for quality family time. When people search for the perfect vacationing spot what do they look for? They usually look for beautiful scenery, and fun family activities that are fairly inexpensive. People also check to see what the weather is going to be like. Lastly, people tend to have standers when they rent a place for their family while on vacation. One place that comes to mind and meets these criteria’s is The Great Smokey Mountains, and a close second would be North Myrtle Beach. The weather in The Great Smokey Mountains has cooler temperatures. While having cooler weather in the mountains it’s also less humid. Also, the mountains are prone to having a great deal of snow. The only thing people really have to worry about in the mountains is the occasional blizzards. North Myrtle Beach provides hotter temperatures and more humidity. Let’s not forget about all that sand that finds its way into everything if the wind starts to slightly blow, or the occasional hurricanes. Even though The Great Smokey Mountains has extreme weathers sometimes just like North Myrtle Beach, it would be better to be snowed in by a blizzard than washed away in a hurricane. Something else people should take into consideration when choosing a vacation spot is the variety of activities it offers for the family. The Great Smokey Mountains offers a much more assorted selection of activities for the family such as hiking, and snow skiing. The Great Smokey Mountains also has an amusement park with exotic animals, how cool is that? At North Myrtle Beach much of the family activities involve some form of water, such as swimming, water skiing, and the water parks.
