While the basic instruments, like guitar, drums, and piano, are common to most genres, musicians make different choices about the instruments that make up their signature sound. Rap musicians use a more synthetic sound than their country music counterparts, who typically prefer a more natural sound. For instance, in rap music, you’ll hear a lot of drum machine beats sampled from other rap songs. In fact, it is very common to collaborate in this fashion. A prime example of this is the hit song by Lil Wayne called “Tha Block is Hot”. Lil Wayne’s music is centered on the drum beat. The main verses were written by Lil Wayne himself, while certain verses were written by other rappers. In country music, the popular instrument is the acoustic guitar. Country music is “a branch of American Popular Music (Country Music)” that dates back to the 1920s. The music itself is a combination of folk music arising from the southern United States, with “cowboy” music from the Wild West. The beats, the harmony, and the flow are generally simple and allow for listening at ease. Lyrical analysis separates country music from mixing with other categories, as it is associated with ballads and stories – the songs are fit to tell. Any and all accompaniment is, in general, strings, fiddles, and harmonica. While modern music balances the artist with digital sound, country music remains true with unity of said instruments. When describing country, upon interpretation the term “twang” is used; twang can range

As long as we’re examining race, how is the success of a white rapper such as Eminem different? Plus, Eminem didn’t have a successful career in rock, for example as Darius Rucker did. Yet, Eminem’s career has been enormously successful, and there was little discussion of how odd it was that a white man would choose to perform in this genre. Is country music a genre that has been appropriated so much by white artists that black artists abandoned the genre altogether?
I have listened to country music since I was a little, as did my husband. For him, it's a reminder of a simpler time, helping his father farm, plowing fields into the night. For me, it's a reminiscence of sunning myself in my backyard over summer vacation. The twangy sounds of the guitars and the fiddles always seemed to make me feel at home. For me, country music is a way of life, therefore the reasons I will use in an attempt to persuade you that country music is better than other music include its deep history in America, the quality and content of the music and its relatability.
Yes, I can identify a cultural link with this type of music. As well as rock and roll this genre created its own culture. Just like rock and roll it also brought with it a fashion and hair styles and rides. It started within the black community and spread along. Rap took longer than rock and roll to actually link different cultures and social classes together because it originated in a minority social class. To some people listening to rap was downgrading and vulgar, due to the slang and offensive language. However it was a huge movement for the black community as they expressed their feelings towards the way they were being treated. Later on there was a merge when Eminem came along, as he was a white man that also wanted to become a rapper. Not seen or accepted well by the white or the black communities. He was white acting like a black man and a lot of people did not agree with that. It took time for the black community to accept him. But once they did he began to gain popularity. He is now one of the biggest rappers in rap history. He then became a key for the rap music to become popular among the white community. Now more people openly started to listen to rap and brought those two cultures

Centuries before hip hop music existed, the Tribes of West Africa were delivering stories rhythmically, over drums and sparse instrumentation. Connections between tribal story telling virtuals and rap music have been acknowledged by many modern day "tribes", spoken word artists, mainstream news sources, and academics. In the 21st century, rappers rap about their lives and how the place they grew up in was very hard and that is why many people think like rap music so much, because there are many connections rapper can relate to.
Music can be reflection of our life experience. Each genre of music invokes different emotions and reactions in it's listeners. Rap has become a very popular genre in today's society. Music and what lyrics are placed in songs has had a lot of influence over my emotions not only when I listen to the song but when I think about the event that goes with that song. In this day and age music and media have more power to manipulate young minds than it did only a generation ago. The songs that people say are deep and meaningful are usually those that are easy to connect with. The six songs you have listened to are songs most people do not understand until they analyze the meanings of them. My own mother in fact does not like the music I listen to just because of the language and because she tends to see things as they are instead of the feelings and motivations poured into something.
Country music was brought over by the first European settlers. In medieval times, storytelling was a tradition that allowed history to be recorded when few were able to read and write. The people who settled the Appalachian Mountains and the West did not have an easy life and their music gave them an outlet to express their hardships.

In recent discussion of hip hop culture, a controversial issue has been whether if hip hop makes people believe that money is everything you need to get respect and power. Some argue that you need to build respect and by building respect you become powerful and that will lead you to money. On the other hand, however, others argue that hip hop life helped them a lot by writing the lyrics and saying the things that they can’t do or say. One of this view’s main proponents, “money brings power, ” according to this view, people who have more money will get more power and then they usually use this power to do the most disturbing activities, such as crime.
