Without comparative method it would be very difficult to know why certain things exist differently, even though they share certain communality and therefore, we have to compare and contrast different variables under them as to see their common or different independent variables causing variance between them. Therefore, existence comparative politics is very important. As Giovanni Sartori (1994) “…..says we compare to control, control means the way that we use comparisons as a way to check (verify or falsify) whether our claims or assertions about certain phenomena are valid or not by controlling for, or holding constant, certain variables. Example: poverty causes corruption or, corruption causes poverty, also look, authoritarianism is more …show more content…

Moreover, when in-depth studying single case we are extensively studying them and even if we have limited variables it help us build our hypotheses. The case we selected may be for analysis because of an interest in case per se or because of an interest in theory-building on that particular case. We have different types of case studies so far, these are; theoretical case studies, interpretative case studies, hypothesis case studies, theory-confirming and theory-infirming case studies and finally deviant case studies. Theory-confirming and theory-infirming case studies are analysis of single cases with the framework of established generalizations. The case study is a test of the proposition, which may turn out to be confirmed or infirmed by it. Deviant case analyses are studies of single cases that are known to deviate from established generalization. From six theories, hypothesis-generating and deviant case studies have greatest value in terms of their contribution to
