Coming of Age: Personal Interview A lot of people can agree that college is where you feel that you are an adult with the long days and long nights of studying, but what I think is that coming of age is reaching a certain point in your life where you feel mature enough to be an adult, this can be different for everyone depending on their perspective and experience, but you will know if you are an adult. My interviewee is my sister who is currently in college. My sister who’s name is Shiela Mae, her experience in college contributed to her coming of age because she feels that college helped her grow her own personality, it also opened up her personal view of her work ethic before she went to college and she is still continuing to grow on her college. …show more content…

The troubles that she currently has is finishing the deadlines, keeping up with the work, etc. Furthermore, these challenges were difficult for her because the transition from high school to college is somewhat of a challenge for her, she had to get used to the difficulties of high school like writing long essays, but she overcame this when she decided to stop slacking with her work and she started to be more serious with the work. Therefore, she became more focused and serious with her work and she is currently succeeding with her work. She did this by repeatedly making actions instead of saying that she would do it, but she actually did it not making half baked promises. Additionally, one example of this is when she said “The challenges I faced were mainly my world history work, these challenges mainly consisted of committing to finish the work because of how long the work was and how much I had to study” (Shiela) when she encountered this problem this is when she started to realize how difficult the work can be, in doing so she worked harder and more focused then she was ever, her performance increased
