Marjane Strapi had the choice to share her coming of age story in many ways but she decided to share her experience in a surprising way. Satrapi wrote her autobiography in a comic novel. Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi is a popular autobiography comic novel not only, because it is a primary source of historical events of Iran but also, because the book provides many life lessons and makes a person more open-minded of its surrounding. “ They were Guardians of the Revolution, The Women Branch…. [they] arrested women who were improperly veiled.” (432) Before, I had read this book I did not know how strict the rules were in Iran. Also, I did not know how little of freedom of expression or how there was a serve dress code the Iranian had to obey. Crimes to me are something that hurts, however the Iran government identifies crime in a much stricter view that involved freedom and fun. “The Interiors of homes also changes” (105). Since kids usually prefer to read books with pictures that included a minimum amount of words she decided to do this to intrigued young kids and pursue them to read her autobiography. She believes that her story has important events that may help a person and describes the lifestyle of a regular person who had to deal with the country’s government
