It has been strongly debated if college should be required or not in the United States, but it should not be required. People want to start in the workforce earlier to get more life experience and because some need money immediately. There are many reasons someone might not be able to go to college, and by making people get a college education, it could be a great burden on them and their families. College should not be required of everyone because there are many well paying jobs that do not require a college education, college is not accessible to all, and the college environment is not for everyone.
There are many well paying jobs that do not require a college education in this day and age. The workforce requires skilled workers that can work with their hands and use real world experience that cannot be found in college. There are more workforce jobs that don’t require college than management jobs that do

People living in poverty who already have full-time or part-time jobs should not be required to go to college that they would have to pay for. Some families cannot manage the money which they have already, let alone college loans. People with certain living conditions, where they have to take care of children or siblings, would make it hard to go to college. People who have to take care of their family and bring in income are usually working one or more full-time or part-time jobs or staying home to care for siblings and do not have the time or money to go to college. People who have families that have recently received an expensive bill that was not planned, could prevent a younger member of the family from going to school. Even if this student had a full ride scholarship, they would have to stay home to help earn money to bring their family out of debt. Even if college was required, most people would be unable to receive this education depending on their
You don’t need a college degree to have a good paying job. Not attending college affects ones literacy of financial awareness, their ability to receive a job, and their ability to carry our responsibilities.
While most people want college to be free, the U.S. should not make tuition free for all citizens. There are a number of reasons like taxing families who already have it hard, quality in education, rationing, and if people see that they do not have to pay it may lower the value in which they won 't take school seriously. Tuition free college is impossible because at the end of the day someone will have to pay for all those students attending. For example, “In college I was invested, I was paying,” The former student said, “Once it entails a cost, it’s not easy to just say, Oh, let’s not go to class today. You’re just hurting yourself” (qtd, in Make College Affordable, but Not Free). Student who barely made it
Not everyone can afford it . Some just don't meet requirements. But now everyone needs to go to college and get a bachelor’s degree or higher . The world is becoming too competitive with everyone seeking a well paying job that even offers health benefits . People can be influenced to go to college because of the money . The world has become of money . Everything is money . We need money to live with no struggle in this Economy . People are also influenced by their dreams , their family , or just fod the experience . Whatever influences a person to go college they need to go
Next year, Chile will do the same. Finland, Norway, Sweden and many other countries around the world also offer free college to all of their citizens..” Also, other countries have higher test scores than the United States of America. So shouldn’t we be following these other countries education system? The youth is going to be our future, so we want our future to be heading in the right direction. Even though people might say, public colleges and universities might become less worried about wasteful spending since they won't have to compete with other schools on cost. That could strain public budgets even further. Here is the weakness, Is a College Education Worth It? “People would have more freedom to contribute their talents, try new ideas, and pursue the lives they want if they didn't have to start off in debt or stay stuck in a low-wage job. This could lead to happier people and happier people could lead to a happier, more prosperous nation as a whole.” People would have more freedom to try new things and not have to worry about any funds. I am not disagreeing with the fact that every person wouldn’t take that their college opportunities serious, but there are students that are not in college today waiting for an opportunity for something as breathtaking
Right now in our society a college education is no longer an option or privilege, but rather a necessity. We are practically raised and conditioned to believe that one needs higher education in order to succeed in life. There is a saying that says "if you think education is expensive, try ignorance." But as technology is constantly advancing and computers are running almost anything, is a college education really necessary? There are people whom have never set foot in a college and are doing better than people who have their master's degree. There are views from both sides that contain a valid argument.
There is no need for everyone to get a college degree when they can be trained in technologies and trades that can offer a job and a paycheck. America still needs manufacturing technicians, mechanics, and carpenters. Without these key workers America would not be able to function properly. The USA needs to start encouraging its citizens to go to trade schools because that is where the jobs that make good money are. A college degree used to be the only way to get a good paying job but times have changed and getting vocational training from a trade school is the best option many people have for earning a living.
College education goes about the way to an effective future for people who are not kidding with it. Currently, a college education has turned in the base necessity in securing a job in different companies and although some people might think college is not worth the debt, in a long run it actually is.
College is unaffordable for so many people, teenagers and adults alike. Nowadays so many people choose not to go to college because it costs too much, yet it is getting harder to find a career job that does not require a college degree. It is nigh on impossible. Then, once one obtains a degree, it is still difficult. College websites brag about 50% of people finding a job in their certified field as if this is good, but it should be higher. I believe if college was more affordable, more people would be able to pursue their desired degrees without swimming in debt and not being able to find a job after college. This would help people receive a higher education that people would circulate into more diverse jobs instead of those that do decide on going to college being funneled into one program, for instance the nursing program. This is why it should be government policy to apply for cheaper college education for those who do two years of public service prior to attending college for participating volunteer programs.
For many years, higher education has been a helpful tool for those looking to have a professional career, and now, it seems that getting a degree is almost necessary. In our present day it is nearly impossible to get a job without graduating college and that is why a higher education is considered to be the most valuable investment for Americans. College is so valuable because it lowers your risk of unemployment while giving you the opportunity to have your future potential earnings increased. Many Americans don’t go to college because they can’t afford it or they fear that college just isn’t the right fit for them and others don’t’ enroll because they are lazy. These problems could possibly all be erased by making all citizens in America legally required to move on to at least a two year institution at the very minimum upon the graduation of high school. Having community college tuition-free will eliminate any financial excuses against college being required for all US citizens. Alan Bloom believes “Education is the movement of darkness to light”. Bloom is trying to convey that education can help you get through the roughest of times and to help make something of yourself. College is a place for exploration and finding out who you are and what you want to be.
In the past decade, many college students have fallen into poverty. There’s a lot of issues that go beyond this topic, many people wouldn’t think College students could end up in poverty. Because, either those college students get scholarships or financial aid but, none of those could support a college student. I believe that there could be a more possible way for a college student to survive the college life and earn the degree they desire.
College is a very important thing. If you go to college you will most likely get better pay in your career. Also, with a college degree, you have more opportunities. Everything that I have stated is true and is why I believe that everyone should go to college. College is actually a very good thing for people to do. It just takes some effort and time. If everyone goes to college then society saves a lot of money and they have a higher chance to be healthier. So what if college costs some money won’t it be worth it in the
The book Taking Sides- Educational Issues states that, “individuals who have attended college have greater work opportunities and tend to have skills that can be easily applied in different job settings”.
...s comes with college being too expensive and is growing at a rate higher than inflation (Kantrowitz). There are many great jobs out there that don’t require a degree and pay good as well as on the job training. The truths many people aren’t willing to admit are getting a college degree will lead people to better careers too. People don’t need a college degree to be successful, but having an education is important, along with a desire to continue to learn, work hard, and adapt.
Students are they key to the future and college is the next step for them to take after they graduate high school to nourish them into successful young adults to help benefit others. Free access to higher education beyond high school should be totally free for the ones who have no choice but to go in debt. College education should be free just like it is free through k-12th grade. Free college will not only benefit us but also others and our country. The more people who go to college and graduate the smarter our country will be as a whole. Nowadays a college degree is required to have a well paid and guaranteed job. The company’s that are hiring for new job positions can now be taken because more Americans have the degree and are qualified for the job now. Many factors and good things come if college were free. Another one is more high school students would be motivated to get higher grades than they do now so they can get accepted into their dream college. We would see a huge increase of academic success for students in high school and then for more students attending for higher education from their excellence performance in high school and graduating with a four-year degree and benefiting the economy with their careers. What if a person is really smart
College graduates have more jobs to choose from. The more years of education one has completed, the more opportunities he or she will have as a potential hire. Some employers would not even consider interviewing a job seeker who has no college education, and many employer...
