If you are one of those individuals who just cannot make it through their day without their favorite blend of coffee or tea then you may have probably already heard about K-cups. Although relatively new in the market, k-cups have seen an exponential burst in demand and with good reason too. They simply make life much easier for coffee and tea fanatics. If you still haven't heard about coffee K-cups then it is still not too late as it is a furiously emerging trend.
Coffee K-cups are plastic cups produced with a coffee filter embedded within them. The best blends of coffee are then packed into the cup as per various consumer preferences. Once the coffee or sometimes tea is in the cup, it is then vacuum sealed to preserve it in its current condition

The cup is placed in the brewer and the brewer then pokes a hole through the plastic and foil plus the bottom of the cup as well. A jet of hot water is then forced into the cup and the brew is ready in seconds. This is one of the biggest advantages of the K-cup. One no longer has to line up every morning at coffee shops wasting a lot of time before getting to their workplace. In just a matter of seconds your coffee or tea is ready to go and you are on your way.
The patent owners of the K-cup are the main providers of this kind of brewer that uses the K-cups. Other coffee or tea makers are also licensed to produce the brewers and cups as well filling them with their own trademark blends. This is where the second advantage of the K-cups comes in. it does not restrict you to drinking only blends that come from the inventors of the K-cups. You are at liberty to buy K-cups of your favorite blend of tea or coffee from your choice of brands.
Getting K-cups is not a difficult affair. They are already being sold in many retail stores and supermarkets. Nowadays however, for even more added convenience, it is very easy to order your favorite flavors of K-cups on the internet. You do not have to leave the comforts of your home and in a few hours the package will arrive at your doorstep ready for
Geoff Herzog is the product manager for coffee development at Kraft Foods Canada. After reviewing successful results of single-serve coffee pod systems, he wondered whether it would be successful in other areas. It was July 6, 2004, and Herzog had just learned that Kraft Foods North America was planning an aggressive launch of coffee pods in the United States. He then had only a month to decide whether or not the company should proceed with a simultaneous launch in Canada, or await the U.S. results.
Keurig Inc. founded in 1992, manufactures and designs single-cup brewing systems for use in commercial offices, food service, medical offices, and home environments (Keurig Inc., 2014). In June of 2006, Keurig Inc. began operating as a subsidiary of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. (Keurig Inc., 2014). The company also produces gourmet coffee, hot cocoa, ice beverages, and tea in different K-Cup portion brand packs. The company uses a network of national and local retailers as well as grocery stores ...
The coffee pot was made to make coffee easier to make with a metal sieve to catch all the coffee grounds. The inventor of the coffee pot was Benjamin Thompson who was also a lieutenant for the loyalist during the American Revolution. The coffee pot was made in 1806. It worked by sieving out coffee grounds from the coffee so there wasn't grounds in the coffee when poured.
What may be important to one company might not be important to another company. The coffee pods for the single cup serving machines are not biodegradable. A few companies are now starting to make their cups biodegradable as they are starting to fill up landfills at an alarming rate. Some companies feel that this is a sustainable course of business and started to make biodegradable cups that will help the environment. There was no need to go this route other than to be a socially responsible
The standard large container of Folgers regular classic roast coffee will brew 270 cups for $17.00. The average pack of 54 k-cups can cost anywhere from $30.00- $40.00 and will only brew 1 cup per k-cup. If someone were to buy 5 of these packs (which would be equivalent to the 270 cups worth of coffee in the Folgers container), it would cost them about $200.00, which is a striking difference. Because the k-cup options may be easier and more convenient to make, the traditional way of brewing Folgers coffee may soon become obsolete. Folgers dominated the home coffee market prior to the boost in popularity of K-cups, but since then, they seem to have a lot more competition in the coffee market. While Folgers has made their own line of K-cups and generally continued to do well, they would prefer if consumer habits retreated back to traditional home brewing, where they had more market dominance. According to the Seattle Times, “By 2018, market-research firm Mintel expects consumers to spend nearly as much on coffee pods as they do on bulk coffee.” This is potentially damaging to the traditional brewed Folgers brand because traditionally brewed coffee is going to diminish in popularity over time. Our message is to emphasize the price difference to customers and show them that the classic container of c...

The larger serving size of Great Cups of Coffee is perhaps the most apparent gage that will improve appeal for the company’s customers. Receiving extra of a proportionately quality product for a comparable price obviously works as an enticement for customers to prefer Great Cups more than the opposition. While customers identify with a better quality and superior taste with fresher coffee, Great Cups supports its effective model of serving coffee that has been roasted no more 72 hours ago and that is blended and ground right at the store. Great Cups also provides as an unintended marketing method community bulletin boards and assists with book club gatherings as well as
First introduced in 1964 on the original menu, coffee has become a staple at Tim Hortons and their single biggest seller. The Canadian giant dominates the coffee industry, having a market share unparalleled by any competitor in Canada. Boasting impressive statistics, 8 out of 10 cups of coffee sold in Canada are done so by the Tim Hortons. In addition, over 2 billion cups of coffee are sold annually. Tim Hortons prides itself on it’s premium blend of 100% Arabica beans and freshness, imposing a 20-minute maximum waiting period from when the coffee is made. This maximum time limit, guarantees that coffee is served fresh, rather than sitting out for long periods of time. Furthermore, to ensure continuous quality, Tim Hortons hires coffee masters to taste-test over 75,000 cups per year. To help corner the market Tim Hortons introduced flavoured Cappuccino’s in 1997, as well as Café mocha’s and Iced Cappuccino’s, both in 1999.
The improvements to coffee brewers and the innovation of Keurig has allowed for Starbucks to repackage their products and distribute it as a home product. Many of the flavors consumers could only get from the Starbucks espresso machine in the store can now be duplicated in the home. The opportunity for continued expansion is present. Coffee is quickly being consumed in almost every country in the world, Starbucks has a legitimate opportunity to influence those countries without the Starbucks brand to open their doors.
Most people have moments in their life where they just want to enjoy an expensive Caribou drink without paying for it. The kind of drink that makes one gasp when they first see it, and when they take a sip of it their mouth craves for more. I would love this free drink. In order to get one, I must be able to find the right person and persuade them to buy it for me. I have three siblings: Kaylee, Kyle, and Kurt who would be strong contenders in getting a payed-for coffee. The question is: who would more likely buy me a drink?
In the United States, coffee is the second largest import (Roosevelt, 2004). Furthermore, the United States, consumes one-fifth of all the worlds¡¦ coffee (Global Exchange, 2004). The present industry is expanding. It is estimated that North America¡¦s sector will reach saturation levels within 5 year (Datamonitor. n.d.). According to National Coffee Association (NCA), 8 out of 10 Americans consume coffee. In addition, it is estimated that half of the American population drinks coffee daily. The international market remains highly competitive. It is estimated that 3,300 cups of coffee are consumed every second of the day worldwide (Ecomall, n.d.). The latest trends included dual drinkers, an increase in senior citizens...
As we begin the year 2016, the reality is that most of those coffee makers are now Keurigs, individually pod-brewing machines. These machines use a plastic pod for every cup of coffee that they make. Exact numbers are hard to come by, but it’s estimated that in 2011, about 5 billion K-Cups were sold (A., 2012). Some have even said that enough K-Cups were sold in 2014, that if they were stacked end on end, they would circle the Earth 10.5 times! These pods are made of a plastic that is not biodegradable, and they are not reusable either.

And, come 2 o’clock, when we know in our heart and bones we’ll never make it ‘til five and we need that pick me up, many of us head to the nearest deli or barista to grab a cup of “second wind.”
