As an agricultural country, the Philippines export many products like mango, coconut, and pineapple. Coconut and its products such as coconut oil are the main export products of the Philippines. The "Tree of Life" gives life to the Filipino people not only to the farmers because it is a job provider for millions of individuals. The coconut serves as the Philippines' most valuable fruit because it gives a lot for the country being a top exported product. Coconut is needed not just only by the Philippines, but the world because it is one of the few sources of fatty acids and fatty alcohol which are used as main ingredients in detergents and other products needed for daily living (Pambansang Kilusan ng Mga Samahang Magsasaka (PAKISAMA), Inc., …show more content…
Massive cutting of coconut trees, inter-cropping and conversion of agricultural and into non-agricultural use are the main problems of coconut farms in the Philippines (RBOI-ARMM, n.d). Cutting of coconut trees results in lower production and supply of coconut products or export mainly coconut oil because cutting of trees will reduce the number of nuts which are used to produce coconut oil. The preservation of coconut trees is needed to sustain the needs for coconut oil and other coconut products, and so the Coconut Preservation Act is required. Proper implementation of the laws such as Coconut Preservation Act is necessary to maintain or increase the supply of coconut oil and preserve the income for the coconut farmers in the Philippines. If the coconut trees are protected and preserved then, the coconut oil industry will prosper and, so the economy of the Philippines will develop. Rehabilitation of coconut farms in the Philippines is much needed to increase the production, and proper implementation of the Coconut Preservation Act is required that is why the Executive Order No. 213 also known as NETFORCE was made. The NETFORCE shall formulate plans of action to control the rampant cutting of coconut trees in violation …show more content…
8048) and NETFORCE (Executive Order No. 213) are helpful and played a significant role in the production of coconut and coconut oil in the Philippines. The increase in the manufacture gives the coconut farmers more income and giving them a real life. The Philippines as an agricultural country, Filipino coconut farmers benefited a lot from the increase of coconut production because it gave them more income and sustainable job for a better future. Those acts affect a lot on the coconut oil industry because it rehabilitates the coconut farms and it preserves the coconut trees making it more productive. The coconut oil industry became progressive because of the interventions made by the government. The Coconut Preservation Act does not only preserve the coconut trees, but it also keeps the nature for future use. The increase in the production of coconut also enhances the consumption of it which has a good effect on humans and nature. The coconut oil industry in the Philippines became progressive because of the Coconut Preservation Act of 1995 which aims to protect the trees and its part, and provide rehabilitation of coconut farms for better production. The progress of one sector of the country's economy depends on the interventions made by its government and sustainable methods for long-term use. The responses made also affects the style of living of Filipino families particularly those

Although it has been known for nearly a century is a superficial application of coconut oil changed since 1930, when the dentist Weston Price examined traditional diet and its effect on dental health, as well as the overall health of the population living in the South Pacific. He found that their diet rich in coconut products is strong, regardless of the high concentration of fats and heart disease in

The Shea tree is indigenous to the semi-arid Sahel region of West Africa which extends over five thousand kilometers. The processing of Shea Butter from the nut is traditionally done by the women of the community. For centuries these women have collected, marketed and transformed Shea nuts into a multipurpose product. When the nuts are crushed they produce a vegetable fat known as Shea butter. After processing the butter is stored in cool storage rooms until they are shipped to Sekaf International distribution centers. T...

Two new laws have been passed stating that the removal of any natural resources from the rainforest, including trees and minerals, is permanently banned. Timber and mining companies may no longer operate in the rain forest. In addition, to decrease the poaching of animals and trees in the rainforest, a drastic increase in the penalties for poaching will be issued and the consequences are up to and including potential life in prison. Also a large increase in the funding of efforts to prevent poaching and capture poachers has been set in place. In retrospect to the new laws put into place, there will be pros and cons of the effect that the law has on the Ba’aka people, the logging and mining workers, the poachers of bushmeat and ivory, and congolese environmentalists.
Cosmetics, soap, chocolate, and frozen meals. These general products all have something in common; they include palm oil, a resource found in oil palm trees located primarily in Indonesia and Malaysia. Palm oil is a valuable resource that is contained in many everyday products. However, the mass consumption of this ingredient caused wide deforestation in wildlife’s natural habitat and is leading to the endangerment of several animal species. Sustainable palm oil is grown and harvested by companies on private land to avoid deforestation and harm to wildlife, so people should consider purchasing products that include sustainable palm oil rather than palm oil taken from natural forests.
Biological Knowledge The production of palm oil requires the deforestation and clearing of land which threatens the rich biodiversity in the ecosystem of Indonesia, which is affected by the production of palm oil negatively as issues are raised with the problem of deforestation with the clearing of land, and also the potential distinction of animals such as orangutans. There are still however ways in which the production of palm oil can be sustainable to the environment, as palm oil is essential for the use by humans because of the containment of the nutrients and also with the production of foods and products. Arguments for The production of palm oil is beneficial for humans as palm oil contains various nutrients. Research suggests that the palm oil contains the essential nutrients contributing to good health, like low cholesterol for humans.
With its tropical climate, heavy rainfall, and naturally fertile soil, the Philippines is predominantly agricultural. It also has other industries that help boosts its economy: textiles, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, wood products, food processing, electronics assembly, petroleum refining, and fishing.
The first inhabitants of the Philippines arrived from the land bridge from Asia over 150,000 years ago. Throughout the years, migrants from Indonesia, Malaysia, and other parts of Asia made their way to the islands of this country. In the fourteenth century, the Arabs arrived and soon began a long tradition of Islam. Many Muslims are still living in the Philippines today.
The number one factor of deforestation is that government institutions and other large lumber companies see extremely large profits in the mass deforestation of forests, namely tropical forests. Due to the profitability of our natural resource; timber, the government and other lumber companies want to make a quick buck by cutting corners in logging. According to Butler (2010), logging, which is generally excluded in deforestation figures from the Food and Agriculture Organization, is responsible for the widespread of fore...

Our country has favorable conditions for the development of industrial crops and fruit trees: The climate is humid tropical monsoon with high heat, high humidity. There are many types of soil suitable industrial crops: feralit land in the mountains, alluvial soils of the plains. The labor abundant experience. Processing industry is growing; large market demand. Policies to encourage the development of the state. The development of industrial crops and fruit trees brought many great significance: Supply of raw materials for the processing industry, providing exports. To contribute to job creation, redistribution of labor on a national scale. Promote economic and social development in disadvantaged areas. Speaking of the achievements of agriculture, we will talk to the achievement of food production in our country recently: Rice planted area increased: 5.6 million hectares (1980) to 7.3 million hectares (2005). The crop structure has changed. Productivity increased at 4.9 tonnes / ha / year. Food production in paddy increased: 14.4 million tonnes (1980) to 39.5 million tons, including 36 million tons of rice (2005). Average food at over 470 kg / person / year. Vietnam is one of the leading rice exporter in the world. Acreage and crop production also increased rapidly. The Mekong Delta is the largest food producing countries, accounting
Even though that Filipinos would greatly prefer rice-meals as a primary staple it is never too late to introduce a new product to the market. The food industry is primarily fueled by tastes and fads. The culture of the Filipino is when they like the food that they eat, regardless of the price they will keep on buying the product. Until their marginal utility for the products completely depleted, this is why the food industry is really fueled by tastes and buying behaviors.
