My evaluation: I would not use the LASSI if I were a practicing psychologist. My evaluation is based not only on the less than sterling evaluation of the MMY reviewers, but also on my unique perspective of 1.) Having just taken the LASSI, 2.) Being a person with learning differences not addressed by the LASSI, and 3.) Being a senior in college rather than a freshman just entering college. For example, 21 0f 80 questions (26%) would probably have been answered differently by a visual learner, Secondly, I am about to begin the second semester of my senior year. I just need a rest. The counsellor interpreted my LASSI Attitude and Interest (ATT) scale as a “lack of interest in college and academic success.” (It’s just burnout.) I have a 3.5 GPA in Psychology and hope to graduate this December. I plan to start my graduate work in the fall of 2016. She suggests that I take an aptitude test and think about pursuing another major (at the eleventh hour).

Today’s clinical experience truly affected me in multiple ways. I went into this day with an open mind, and was pleased with the patients and the way I was able to conduct myself. This clinical affected me because throughout the day I felt that I experienced many emotions. A few times during my day I did have to fight back tears. I felt I had this emotion because some of the individuals expressed how they wanted to get better in order to get home to their families.
Licensed practical nurses (LPN 's) fill an important role in modern health care practices. Their primary job duty is to provide routine care, observe patients’ health, assist doctors and registered nurses, and communicate instructions to patients regarding medication, home-based care, and preventative lifestyle changes (Hill). It is the nursing process and critical thinking that separate the LPN from the unlicensed assistive personnel. Judgments are based
Interpreting The MMPI-2-RF included a vast amount of information about the reliability data in the MMPI-2-RF. For example, the scores on the Somatic/Cognitive Scales, Internalizing Specific Problems Scales, Externalizing Specific Problems Scales, and Interpersonal Scales amongst others were reliable based on test-retest correlations and internal consistency estimates in clinical studies. The empirical data offered by the Technical Manual shows strong and distinctive correlational findings, and consistent measures of the constructs the scales target. These findings provide strong evidence supporting the construct validity and reliability of the 51 Scales found in the MMPI-2...
This piece of work will be based on the pre-assessment process that patients go through on arrival to an endoscopy unit in which I was placed in during my second year studying Adult diploma Nursing. I will explore one patient’s holistic needs, identifying the priorities of care that the patient requires; I will then highlight a particular priority and give a rational behind this. During an admission I completed under the supervision of my mentor I was pre-assessing a 37 year old lady who had arrived to the unit for an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. During the pre-assessment it was important that a holistic assessment is performed as every patient is an individual with unique care needs as the patient outline in this piece of work has learning disabilities it was imperative to identify any barriers with communication (Nursing standards 2006).

Critique of a Clinical Evaluation Tool Educating nurses while ensuring the safety of the patient and the learner is quite a challenge. Clinical faculty face this challenge each semester as nursing students enter into the clinical world of nursing. In order to evaluate nursing students in the clinical field, an evaluation tool is necessary to serve as in instrument that will allow the faculty to assess each learner’s competence (Bonnel, 2012). The purpose of this paper is to critique the design and content of the clinical evaluation tool utilized by the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) School of Nursing in Manchester, NH. This evaluation tool is utilized in is NUR 325, Provider of Care 1: Adult and Elder Health.
Critically reviewing the scientific development of the testing problem at that time, it is necessary to note the shortcomings that have taken place in theory and practice: - the absolute value of the test control and attempts to replace all other types of control with tests; - lack of appropriate training for the design and use of tests by teachers; - non-compliance with the requirement of one of the most important elements of the validity of the test - the validity of the content; - the unsuccessful formulation of many test questions and their alternatives (several correct answers corresponded to the same question); - inclusion in the test of a large number of questions that required a detailed response; failure to perform the procedure for determining the validity and reliability of the test by statistical methods.
My second week of clinical was on the third floor at Northern Light Regional Hospital. My colleagues, I and my instructor were at the inpatient unit, the reason for being there is to learn about how mental illness affects people from diverse places and how these illnesses are treated by health care professionals using different strategies like medication, therapeutic communication, referral to outpatient services and so on. Mental illnesses are one of the most difficult things that affect individuals and in other to carry out effective treatment, healthcare professionals collaborate with other outpatient professionals like addiction therapist and counselors to help an individual return to normal functioning. According to Canadian Nurses Association, collaboration and cooperation with different sectors (nurses, therapist, educators, doctors, dieticians and so on) of the community must link together to support people beyond their health
Statement of Purpose Becoming a medical doctor and becoming a consulting detective, these two dream jobs were sprouting out deeply in my mind since I was a little child. In my last year of undergraduate study, I could say with confidence, the way to pursue both dreams together is becoming a clinical psychologist, which could not only satisfy my desire of having extraordinary personality but also fulfill the idea of having a consulting career. To achieve my strong ambition of becoming one, attending a doctoral program in clinical psychology is required. After a detailed review of more than 50 Ph.D. and Psy. D. programs in clinical psychology, I have decided to apply to PGSP-Stanford Psy.

In freshman year, I joined Dr. Braunschweig’s research group to explore chemistry and contribute to something important. The lab worked on the synthetic dye aggregation for energy capture, and needed to quantify binding constants. I started with a published titration method using absorbance spectroscopy, and set out to collect data. Temperature settings seemed to change by the hour, data saved to odd locations, and each scan showed something different. Yet, the graduate students showed me how many times an experiment could go wrong before one went right, leaving many broken Erlenmeyer flasks in its wake.
