The soul is a delicate flower, with fragile petals that can be plucked by the hand of Zephyr. Conversely, the delicate flower has roots that reach deep in the ground; so even when it gets buried in snow, it endures the winter to bloom in the spring. To live an empowered life, you must persevere through the most adverse conditions: therefore, live by the principles of hope, compassion, and gratitude to provide nourishment to your roots.
Filling yourself with hope is essential to improving your quality of life. To experience hope, you must have ambition, optimism, and faith. A common cliché- Carpe Diem- embodies humanity’s distaste for complacency, and its preference for generativity. In the Dhammapada, the Buddha states that “the secret to happiness lies in the mind’s release from earthly ties. You must cast aside your earthly attachments: “if with a pure mind a person speaks or acts, happiness follows them like a never-departing shadow (Buddha Dhammapada)”.
