At the beginning of this century new kind of media showed up to the public, which is the Citizen Journalism. Citizen journalist is a person who works alone from his house by his phone or his personal pc to get the news and publish it by using blogger or social media like Facebook or Twitter. While Citizen Journalism helps society by giving variety and good kind of information, it still have lacked freedom because of the government and traditional media. Usually Governments do not like support the Citizen Journalism because it is difficult to be controlled. also it voice kind of news that governments do not like, so governments trying to put restriction on Citizen Journalism. On the other hand, governments may like to support a traditional media for many reasons one of them it could be easy to controlled, but what is the traditional media. Traditional media is an organization that has a group of professional people who study the media or they have been in the media for a long time. Although there are many people think the citizen journalism do not have the right to write and publish the news, I think citizen journalism need more freedom to write and publish news for three reasons: they can publish news in speedily way, voice all kind of people opinion and can cover news that can not be covered by traditional media.
The first reason, citizen journalism should have the right to write and publish the news is because they can publish the news faster than traditional media. For example, when hurricane Katrina hit the New Orleans in Aug 23,2005, in minutes citizen journalism posted a video and pictures of the devastation before any traditional news organizations. In facet the traditional news organization reported New Orleans news by ...

To sum up , as we can see citizen journalism have a great advantages for our society . They cover and bring news that we could not find it in traditional media. In addition to that citizen journalism present new side of the media, which is let any one shear his opinion and show the other side of opinion to understand. Also, they voice all kind of opinion and giving a chance for all people to share their opinion. In addition, in the future as people we can distinguish between the true and the fake news because we going to have a lot of variety of sources. Also, we going understand the other aspect that traditional media do not offer it For these reasons I support citizen journalism and I hope to get they right.
When discussing the media, we must search back to its primal state the News Paper. For it was the News paper and its writers that forged ahead and allowed freedoms for today’s journalism on all fronts, from the Twitter accounts to the daily gazettes all must mark a single event in the evolution of media in respects to politics and all things shaping. Moving on in media history, we began to see a rapid expansion around 1990. With more than 50% of all American homes having cable TV access, newspapers in every city and town with major newspaper centers reaching far more than ever before. Then the introduction of the Internet; nothing would ever be the same.
During the Progressive Era Theodore Roosevelt coined the term “muckraker” to characterize journalists that he believed overdid themselves when researching a story, comparing them to someone stirring up the mud at the bottom of a pond. However, while Roosevelt created the nickname, he also used the muckrakers’ influence to directly appeal to the American people. Journalists who are considered muckrakers do not go too far in the pursuit of their stories because they are using their positions to expose the ills of the government, big business, and society; it is beneficial to the American people.

Consequently, according to the critics, citizen journalism does not appear to be a straightforward answer to the contemporary 'crises of information', demonstrating complexities that invariably endanger the foundations and legitimacy of the state. Therefore, the contemporary media counter-culture and its take on justice fundamentally violate hegemonic assumptions about crime and its suppression through institutionalised
...o show these journalists as a state enemy in people mind. Thus, Recep Tayyip Erdogan the Prime Minister of Turkey see these journalist as an enemy against him, actually he tried to show they as terrorists.Having said that, in 2010, journalists established ''Journalist's Freedom Platform'' and arranged a press release in order to say that there is a problem in terms of freedom of speech and press. On the top of that, also government made a opression on media bosses. As an important example for this, during the Gezi occupy which is a huge demonstrations that created significant inflation against government, most media company did not mention about these issues, especially, at the begining of the demonstrations, people could not see these demonstrations on TV.What I want to say that, as it can clearly seen that the government supressed the media very highly like in fascism.
There are two types of media that are published, including mainstream media which gives politically correct news media or unrealistic ideals. But on the other hand, there are alternative media, which tends to be information given
Basically, the media performs three functions to inform, to influence and to entertain. But effects of these functions are multidimensional in modern times. It has provided awareness about the whole world. In twenty-first century, media has a tendency to shape political, economical and social values of an individual. Moreover, media has eliminated the boundaries of information, so that a person can become an active citizen of the global economy. Hence, it is logical to state the media has become a basic need of human civic life.
It aims to represent the voices of ordinary people or people that may seem undervalued in the light of the mainstream media. These people are the citizens in whom the news is directed at but the stories that are made and shown may sometimes not resonate with them, instead it is just information that may have no direct effect on them. However, alternative journalism allows the citizen to take journalist practices into their own hands and have a voice and opinion. The access to social media and the internet has brought about a new wave of alternative journalists that have no professional qualifications but look at the world from a view that a majority of the world can understand. Atton mentions that citizens have a loyalty to other citizens (Atton, 2008) which is important to note because it is the biggest motivation for alternative journalism is not profit, but the drive to inform fellow man. People are going to trust news sources that are written by people who are like them or because they are eyewitness accounts or people that have placed themselves in situations that are dangerous, these types of news stories have a more humane

...ponsible journalism goes unaddressed, we will fail to formulate our own individual opinions, and we may become sponges of a negative culture and in turn our interactions with other people will indicative on how they are portrayed in the media. We need to help each other because in the end, all we have is ourselves.
The media is sometimes called the “Fourth Estate” because of its influence in shaping the course of politics and public opinion. Some people are influenced by what they read or hear and others are not. There is a well-known psychological process called selective attention. Wilson, Dilulio, and Bose define it as “paying attention only to those news stories with which one already agrees.” (290)
Press freedom takes influential place in a country. It represents citizen's freedom of speech and the right to know. Media can expose news without obstructor or any controls by government and organizations. There should not be control over the press and press freedom is necessary for regulation the growth of corruption, development of economy and maintenance of democracy.
There are numbered of news channels that have maximum coverage throughout the country. Media contribute a lot to develop public knowledge but even after years of success, media could not alter public’s attitude towards issues. Media should discourage smoothly such attitude of public. Demonstrations and protests are good to increase pressure towards the solution of any problem, but there should be a proper way to express which should result oriented.
