How do we solve a situation when a company’s reputation is on the line? As a crisis manager it is important that we get to the bottom line to figuring out what product or products that are causing many kids to fall ill. It is our goal for Nutritional Foods Inc. to have great satisfaction with all are products, when health problems arise it’s are obligation to determine, analyze, and fix the situation. As of right now, all we know from hospital reports are kids were treated from food poisoning after eating unpasteurized apple products from Nutritional Foods (“The case of Nutritional Foods,” 1998).
It is very important to find out what exact product or products may have poisoned these kids. This is a very hard process to determine because these

apple products could have been contaminated from transportation, insects, to even bad store hygiene. It could take months before figuring out what exactly have caused food poisoning from the product’s we sell, that saying if are products actually caused it. Since we did have reports against unpasteurized apples, as a crisis manager that best way to approach this problem is to request samples of these products sold at the stores where the kids became sick. We could have testing done comparing the unpasteurized apple products from the location where the kids became sick to unpasteurized apple products from our facility. Determining what exactly could be the cause could almost be impossible because we have very little actual related cases against the unpasteurized products. It would be a whole lot different if we had thousand of reported cases relating to the same exact product. At this point it’s a wild card to determining even if our product may cause food poisoning. There is very little evidence that are products actually may have caused these food poisoning cases but a coincidence that they may ate that product with other products. These people could just want to file a lawsuit trying to scam money from Nutritional Food Inc. but are company reputation is on the line. IT is very important that we don’t have bad reviews and publicity about our products. As more cases from serious hospital reports are being claimed of sick child and people from the product, the poisoning case needs to be taking more serious. At this point the best thing to do is too aware the public by news that the unpasteurized apples bought from the stores we sell them at could possibly cause food poisoning.
We are not sure how they became poisoned but we are taking serious action. It would cost way too much money to stop production for these products we sell but cheaper to recall all for sale at stores. Unlike the outbreak of food poisoning in 2015 from Chipotle, where hundreds were sick in several state. (Goguen, 2015). Since chipotle is a franchise business with many of business across America and outside the U.S. it is a lot cheaper closing down all individual business than one individual business like Nutritional Foods Inc. This recent food poisoning case was very similar to the case of nutritional foods. Many of people were sick from E. Coli and norovirus incidents that shut down forty-three restaurants. They stated some great information that would be helpful to relating to the Nutritional Food Case. They stated “time delays between eating the food and onset of illness may make it difficult to pinpoint the food that made you sick. On the other hand, if a government health agency has linked a particular food you ate to an outbreak of food poisoning, your claim may be easier” (Goguen,
2015). This is very helpful information because it is very hard to figure out what products have made someone sick if there is a gap between the products they ate throughout the date till when they actually occurred sick. As if the government has found several cases linked to the same product it would be fairly easy to narrow the products down to a specific brand or type of product. Not having key information like this will make it extremely hard to link which product is causing food poisoning. The company does not want to be at fault for a death related to our products involving serious consequences and a loss reputation to the brand. We can then do further research at are production and transportation facility’s getting to the bottom line if our products really do cause food poisoning. It is better to take action before than after when it’s too late similar to the flint water crisis. When government Rick Snyder approved that it was okay to drink the contaminated led water at that point it was to late to take action. This resulted in thousands of residents becoming sick, earning a bad reputation on that department (Bosman, Davey, & Smith, 2016). This relates a lot because we as a company do not want to be held responsible for making are customers sick. If we are held responsible that there is the chance for Nutritional Food Inc., to be closed down and have lots of law suits filled against us. Since more customer reports are becoming serious as time passes its best to take the strongest ethical decisions so we don’t end up with serious consequences. Our actions are very serious when our customers health and company’s reputation is on the line. With all products pulled back we know we will lose lots of money, but the customers always come first. We can now crack down, determine, analysis, and fix this crisis. Having all products back will allow us to focus more on determining if any of are products could cause food poisoning. This will stop food poisoning claims reported against the firm allowing more time spent investigated the products than the customers. Pulling back all products is the best ethical decision our firm decided to go with so we do not have serious lawsuits against us.
Most of them reported eating food from Chipotle within the week before their symptoms began. Twenty of those individuals have been hospitalized.

Parents also need to take a action in this too, just because you kid gives you a temper tantrum doesn’t mean that you need to buy them the candy they want in order for them to stop crying, and parents should also be informed of the things that their kids are consuming at their schools. Food companies should market or promote the TINY WORDS on the back of their product that informs all of the substances they used to make the product, to the consumer. Just like they would promote their food products to get consumers. Steve Ells founded Chipotle in 1994. When the company first opened its first restaurant, their model of business was a first of its kind. They operated a restaurant business that lies between fast food restaurant and fine dining. The management of the company pride in providing the customers with food services in a fast manner without necessarily the customers experiencing the literal fast food services experience (Ragas & Roberts, 2015). According to the company, their services are high-quality fine dining but delivered in a fast manner synonymous with the common fast-food experience. That model of business practiced by Chipotle has come to be referred as casual restaurant business model.

Due to false advertising, I feel that certain food companies are being careless in trying to make people buy their products in order to make money in the quickest way possible. My only suggestions for this situation are either the companies to tell the truth about their products, or stop advertising completely. If the companies could spend more time researching the effects of their products, then they could make improvements to their foods or maybe find alternatives to the ingredients. That way people can make the right decisions in buying what is best for them and their children. Thank you for your time.

More and More people are becoming concerned about what they eat, especially if they consume food products that are manufactured in food industries. However, it is hard to know what exactly you are consuming if food industries provide false nutrition content and mislead consumers by placing false advertisements on the packaging. When a company produces a product that contains misleading label, consumers are not receiving complete information about the food they are eating which could lead to health issues including allergies and problems with diabetes.
McDonalds is one of the most well known fast food restaurants in the world. It is so popular that it sells seventy-five hamburgers every second and is shockingly also the worlds largest toy distributor (Lubin, and Badkar.) The powerful company is an overwhelming influence not only in the worlds economy, but also the worlds holistic lifestyle and health; therefore, McDonalds must be carefully monitored-carefully monitored meaning every move, every change, every single action the company makes needs to be a healthy one. Since the McDonalds business is unbelievably large, it has to manufacture a lot of food, and in a fast food business more in numbers means lower quality. But the food served isn’t lower quality. The food is not even food. It is poison! The chain restaurants food that is sold to the world population contains over 70 cancer-promoting ingredients (Roberts), not to mention it also contains preservatives that are butane-based, bleached flour, and the main ingredient found in silly putty (Breyer). It is clear that McDonalds does not sell food that anyone should be eating; yet, it poisons 68 million people a day, or in other words one percent of the population (Lubin, and Badkar.) 68 million people poisoned every single day. This atrocity absolutely without doubt needs to be stopped.
According to the recent studies around 76 million illness i.e. 325,000 hospitalization in the United States are caused because of food poisoning.
