Everyone has distinct accomplishments or special events that marked their transition from childhood to adulthood. For some, it could have been a small accomplishment or event that ended up playing a significant part in them transitioning from a kid into a young mature adult. This is was what I actually ended up experiencing. One of my accomplishments that I assumed wasn’t significant resulted in me learning what it truly means to be an adult. This accomplishment was responsibility. For me, responsibility means accepting and owning up to your actions and dealing with situations independently, without the assistance of others. Throughout my years in high school, I finally started to get a sense of what responsibility is and acquire it. I learned that there was no time to look for trouble because I had many standards to pass. As a result, I was able to forget this bad habit in looking for trouble because I realized that in high school every minute of class is valuable. If were to miss any class time because of my behavior, then I would lose education which would lead me to failing my classes. And when I did start to fail a class, not because of my behavior, I learned to only blame myself and not others because I didn't do my job correctly. It was my fault that I didn't give my complete best in trying to pass a class. This were responsibility came in. I learned that I needed to take responsibility in finding a way to pass a class because there wasn't going to be someone there to hand me an easy way in passing a class. I needed to be responsible in finding any sort of help that would help me to pass a class. This would include me requesting more support from a teacher, learning from my classmates in how they were passing class, or using the internet to improve my learning. Responsibility became key in me being able to pass my classes and furthering my education and transitioning into a young adult. Without it, I wouldn't have made it past my first year in high school and would have been stuck in the childhood
