She followed her heart and began her studies in becoming a missionary nun at the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In Chidiac’s article “The Spirituality of Mother Teresa,” the author states, “her religious training was completed in Ireland before she moved to India to become a teacher… in 1929, in Cualcutta.” (470). While in Ireland she learned to speak English, giving Mother Teresa an opportunity to teach English in an Indian school for young girls. Eventually she emerged as the headmistress for the following twenty years. While teaching, she was disturbed by the poverty surrounding in Calcutta; the streets of India were many were born and died, there where beggars and abounded infants and children. The amount of poverty with in Indian became a debatable question for Mother Teresa whether she was going to be able to make a change in her environment. Mother Teresa knew when taking the lords oath, she couldn’t sit back and watch the citizens of India suffer so reconsidering in returning to her Christian duties was out of the question. Mother strongly believed God had placed her in the slums to extend her missionary services outside the walls of her teaching, believing that The physical effort one puts out does not change humanity it is also based on spiritually, love and devotion. After teaching for twenty years Mother Teresa receive a message from God to abandon her job and only source of income which allows us to recognize her dedication and selfness.

From quite a young age, when many people do not know what they are doing with their lives, Mary had already decided that she wanted to be a nun and help people as much as she could, she wanted to help the poor and less fortunate than her. Mary worked with people and children and ...
Frances Cabrini was born in July 15, 1850 to Agostino Cabrini and Stella Oldini in Sant’Angelo Lodigiano, Lombardi, Italy. She was one of eleven children born to the Cabrini family and one of the only four children that survived past adolescence. She was born two months premature and was small and weak as a child. These factors, as well as the strong faith of her parents, would have an impact on the rest of her life, mission, and works. Agostino Cabrini, her father, often read Propagation of the Faith to her and the rest of the family. The stories were all about the missions in China and from a young age, Frances desired to become a missionary. By the age of eighteen, Frances knew that she wanted to be a nun, however; her weak health stood in the way. She could not join the Sacred Heart of Jesus. So instead, in 1863, Frances enrolled as a boarding student at the Normal School in Arluno with the intentions of becoming a schoolteacher. The school was directed by the Daughters of the Sacred Heart. Frances lived at the school for five years, residing in the convent with the nuns. Frances was elated to live with the nuns and to share a faith-centered life with them. She graduated from the Normal School in 1868 with a degree in teaching.
But a biography is one place where we would expect to find a perfectly impartial story. We want to know the good and the bad side of a person. Malcolm Muggeridge, however, mostly conveys the good side of Mother Teresa. He holds her in such high opinion that he convinces everyone that she is saintly. To be a good biography though, it must encompass all sides of a character, including the flaws. In Something Beautiful for God, Malcolm claims that, “There are few things I should rather do than please her” (Muggeridge, 54), and that he would even enter the church if “…it would give happiness to Mother Teresa” (Muggeridge, 58). To Malcolm, Mother Teresa was perfect. And he conveys that in the book. If the reader were to only read this book on Mother Teresa, they would never know her true beliefs and principles. They would not know that she believed that Mary was the mediator between God and ourselves. They would not know that she believed that all religions will lead to the same God. They would not know that she believed that suffering is spiritual value and that she would not prescribe pain killers telling her patients that they are suffering like Christ. Overall, this book would not tell you who Mother Teresa really was. It’s true that Mother Teresa brought light to parts of the world that no one would dare go, but it’s also true that Mother Teresa taught a false religion. Something Beautiful for God then is not a true
...women, Jews, and Negroes were just some of the many things she believed in and worked for. With more equality between the different kinds of people, there can be more peace and happiness in the world without all the discrimination. Her accomplishments brought about increased unity in people, which was what she did to benefit mankind. All of her experiences and determination motivated her to do what she did, and it was a gift to humanity.

Imagine this you turn on the television, you flip through a few channels and stop on one that shows an elderly lady dressed in a habit talking. You listen for a while and realize that you are actually captivated by what she is saying. Even though Mother Angelica was not born in to a perfect family (she was actually born in to a family that lacked a father and a mentally stable mother) and her childhood was tough, she somehow managed to build what one article calls “the largest religious broadcasting empire in the world” otherwise known as EWTN (McCloskey). She has the ability to captivate her viewers and have them agreeing with what she is saying. Due to Mother Angelica’s awards and contributions, hard work and respect earned from others, and large number of fans proves beyond a doubt the Television Hall of Fame should induct thiserson.
... she addressed many problems of her time in her writings. She was an inspirational person for the feminism movements. In fact, she awoke women’s awareness about their rights and freedom of choice. She was really a great woman.
It all started in 1922 in Skopje, Yugoslavia. One day while, the soon to be known as, Mother Teresa was walking, she felt God call her to serve the poor at only the age of 12. Seven years later she discovered her calling was to serve the poor in Calcutta, India and prepared to leave her comfy nunnery in Loretto. As she walked through the beautiful garden in the nunnery, before she left, she questioned leaving all of this beauty for the slums of Calcutta.
Teresa builds her doctrines based on her experiences of divine origin. Teresa’s idea of humility is identical to that of Jesus’ teachings of a humble and loving life. Teresa helped build what it is today’s Church, evident of her title of the Doctor of the Church. For Teresa, “prayer must be the foundation in which this house is built.” To her prayer permits people to get to know God better in an intimate way. In my opinion, I agree with St. Teresa’s theological perspective of a humble and intimate life with God. She has greatly impacted the Church and is the inspiration for many, because of her spiritual ideals on her life and writings, for this she will always be remembered as the great Catholic

In class we explored how pastime disciples used their virtue of holiness to spread the message of Jesus. In this paper I will discuss the Marian Prayer “To Mary Mother of the Church and Acts of Concentration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary”(1), the Marian title Our Lady of Guadalupe and her appearance at the feet of a poor boy in need of helping prayers. I will also be including relating prayers and happenings that Mary experienced to modern day and how we can be affected to inform others about our faith life. The most important thing to keep in mind about Mary and all of her occurrences is that she was the only person who has never been known to sin in their entire life being. This makes it out to be that we all see Mary the way which she should
Since a young age Agnes helped poor people by giving them food to eat and clothes to wear. At the age of twelve she decided that she wanted to become a nun. When she was eighteen she left her family and house knowing that she would never see them again. Studying in Ireland for a year to become a nun she took another step ahead and went to India. There she took her final vows of becoming a nun and adopted the name Sister Teresa in honor of Therese of Lisieux. She worked in a school in Calcutta, India for many years proving herself as a good teacher and principal. When she saw dead bodies on streets and everyday miseries of Calcutta she convinced herself that she should be working among the poor and desperate people of Calcutta rather than rich. Sister Teresa reques...
As a girl she would be part of the local Sacred Heart choir, and she also did many solos in that group. At 12 she felt a calling of God. Princess Diana was known throughout the world as being a well rounded, gorgeous woman, but through all of that she was also a hero in many people’s eyes. Diana was often called Princess Diana by the media and the public, but she did not enjoy such a title and did not personally think of herself as a princess. This is a point Diana herself made to people who referred to her as such. She always had a strong head on her shoulders, no matter what might have been going on at the time. Diana tried to not let various things get her down, even though some could have destroyed her. Diana also spoke with surprising truthfulness about her own personal struggles with bulimia and suicide, giving individuals struggling with these issues a role model of openness and honesty. Princess Diana used her media popularity to bring attention to the needs of the forgotten and needy of the world. She was out to seek a symbol in everyone’s life, life itself.
During this time period, Mother Teresa adopted Indian citizenship and spent several months in Patna to receive medical training at the Holy Family Hospital before venturing off to complete her charity work. She began her missionary work by founding a school in Motijhil, Kolkata, and from the start, Mother Teresa was joined by a group of young women who helped her form a religious community with the basic foundation of helping the “poorest among the poor” (“Mother Teresa,” n.d.). While Mother Teresa’s efforts were noticed by several officials, the first year of her missionary work was wrought with difficulty. During this time, Mother Teresa had no income, she had to beg for food, and the temptation to return to her previous life at the convent was great. A diary entry written by Mother Teresa herself describes in detail the hardships and lessons that she experienced: “Our Lord wants me to be a free nun covered with the poverty of the cross. Today, I learned a good lesson. The poverty of the poor must be so hard for them. While looking for a home, I walked and walked till my arms and legs ached. I thought how much they must ache in body and soul, looking for a home, food, and health. Then, the comfort of Loreto came to tempt me. ‘You have only to say the word and all that will be yours again,’ the Tempter kept on saying, ‘of free choice, my God, and out of love for you, I desire to remain and do whatever be your
