“The murder capital”(ward ,room,staff.np), inefficient, are all ways the city of Chicago and its police force are being portrayed by the documentary Chicagoland. Chicagoland gives a poor representation of what chicago reilly is. The documentary only gives half the story, it only shows Chicago in its bad times when it seems the police have no control over the violence in chicago, but it fails to show how much they actually do to keep the city of chicago safe, with keeping guns of the street and the decreasing of violence . I believe that the documentary is biassed and wants to have chicago seen as a place nobody should ever want to go and for that it should be taken down.

Gun violence has gotten out of control, the amount of illegal guns

In the documentary chicagoland that is what they want to put the emphasis on without giving actual fact on how the police are cracking down on gun violence.What the documentary considers as factual evidence is the simple fact that guns are all over the city and police have no idea where they are getting them from, and they have done little to take the guns off the streets or find out where they are getting the guns from so that makes them ineffective police.The truth to that is police have been hard at work trying to get guns off the street. In fact in 2012 police seized more than 7,400 guns including more than 300 assault weapons(Guns, Seized.np). This is seen a large number of deaths in chicago, but the question is how do you get to a number like that the answer is police inefficiency.in 2012 even with over 500 homicides being recorded the city ended up witnessing a 17% decrease in homicides in inglewood(Yaccino.np).This goes to show that even with a large number of deaths in the city the police have not given up they are trying to lower that number no matter what even if they have to go town by town.NBC5 stated that the city of chicago recorded 500 homicides exceeding New York with 419 and LA with 299 homicides(Ward,room,staff.np). This is trying to show that the city of chicago is an unsafe place to be because of the ineffectiveness of the police.Despite being the murder capitol chicago was still safer than other us cities when crime was viewed per capita.
