In 2015, Cheryl Silvonek lived in her home outside of Allentown Pennsylvania, with her 14 year old daughter. Cheryl discovered that her daughter’s boyfriend Caleb Barnes, who was in the Army, was significantly older than her daughter. He was 21. To try to end the relationship, Cheryl made a deal with the boyfriend to take the two of them to a “Breaking Benjamin” concert in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The morning after the concert the three of them were pulling into the driveway at Cheryl’s home when Barnes started punching her in the head. He attempted to choke her, and finished off by stabbing her four times. She died shortly after in the car. Once dead, the couple took the body and buried it in a small grave. a pond but it got stuck the mud, so they left it there with the motor running. Next they drove to a nearby Walmart where they bought cleaning products like bleach to clean up the blood. Shortly after the killing, the couple was taken into custody on “suspicion of murder”.
The investigators concluded, through many messages from the daughter to Barnes about getting rid of her mother in the days leading up to the concert, that the couple was guilty. When Barnes was interrogated he confessed to the murder of Jamie Silvonek, and tried to insist that his girlfriend had no prior knowledge of the murder. Jamie was charged with “Solicitation of murder” and Barnes was charged with First Degree Murder. Jamie’s attorney filed a motion to have her case moved down to a juvenile court which would not allow her to be held past her 21st birthday. However, the district attorney filed a motion that she would be tried in adult court, which could put her in prison for 25 years to life. On October 29, 2005 during the pre-trial, Judge Marie L. Dantos heard both sides of the issue on whether or not Jamie should be tried as an adult or child. On February 11, 2016 Jamie pleaded guilty to the murder of her mother; she was sentenced to 35 years to life in prison. prison. When Silvonek was found, she had 5 wounds from stabbing in her neck, and her skull had been exposed. According to a Forensic Pathologist from Allentown, she died within minutes of the stabbing to her jugular, and carotid artery. This was determined by how long and deep the punctures were. Several other branches of Forensics would have been involved in solving the Silvonek murder.
A Forensic Criminalist would have identified the blood found in the vehicle in which she was stabbed to death because the Criminalist would deal with body fluids. There were three knives, however the one with blood dried on it was found on a picnic table located behind the Silvonek house. A Criminalist Forensic scientist would have looked at the knife, because the Scientist looks at a variety of physical evidence that can span anywhere from blood to knives. Silvonek’s body was found in a shallow grave so they also might have looked at the shoe prints made around the grave in the dirt to help identify the people
involved. The Forensic Pathologist works on injury analysis and how it relates to how the person died. The Forensic Pathologist on the Silvonek case said that she died because of the stabbing that punctured her jugular and carotid artery. The Pathologist said she died within minutes. Digital Forensics is when there is evidence on a mobile phone or other media device that could be linked to the killer. In the Silvonek case, there were text messages that were found later in the investigation that showed that the mother was worried about how old Barnes, the boyfriend, was. The mother also knew that her daughter was sexting with Barnes because she sent a note to herself asking if she should be concerned. Silvonek also took a picture of the license plate from Barnes car right before they left for the concert the night she was killed. Finally, Jurisprudence Officers could be called into court to call into question any of the Forensic Scientists findings. This might have been done by either of the lawyers of the people who were on trial to try and prove they were not guilty because the professionals may have not been qualified to make the statements that they made. Forensics is important in finding evidence and clues to help solve how people die, and to determine who may have been involved in the killing. Many different fields of forensic science can be involved in solving a murder case, with each branch specializing in a different aspect of evidence. As in the Silvonek murder, they often work together to put all of the pieces of evidence together.
Only Graham Stafford and Melissa Holland had keys to the boot of his car. There was enough evidence to support that Melissa had nothing to do with the deceased
I took pictures of all of the blood stains and collected the knife and fork as evidence.

On April 5, 1999, 22 year old, Aaron McKinney was found guilty of felony murder, second-degree murder, kidnapping and robbery. 21 year old, Russell Henderson pled guilty to kidnapping and felony murder and was sentenced to two consecutive life terms. Two women described as the suspects girlfriends, Chasity Vera Pasley (20) and Krista Lean Price (18) were charged as accessories after the fact of first-degree murder (The Data Lounge, Issues 2000, [on-line]).
Your honor, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, thank you for your attention today. [Slide #2] I would like to assert that separation is not the end of a relationship. Divorce is not the end of a relationship. Even an arrest is not the end of a relationship. Only death is the end of a relationship. In the case of defendant Donna Osborn, her insistence that ‘“one way or another I’ll be free,”’ as told in the testimony of her friend Jack Mathews and repeated in many others’, indicates that despite the lack of planning, the defendant had the full intent to kill her husband, Clinton Osborn.
The evidence presented to myself and the other juror’s proves that Tyrone Washburn is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of the murder of his wife, Elena Washburn. On March 12, 1979 Elena Washburn was strangled in the living room of her family’s home. Her body was then dragged to the garage, leaving a trail of blood from the living room to the place it was found. Her husband, Tyrone Washburn, found her in the family’s garage on March 13, 1979 at 1:45 A.M. When officer Dale Chambers arrived at the scene he found her lying face down in a pool of blood. The solid evidence in this case proves only one person, Tyrone Washburn, is guilty of murder.

In doing research on this topic there is a lot of detail to go into this topic, so in suggestion this paper need to explain the other different investigators that process any crime scene.
The first suspect is Edward “Bennie” Bedwell. Bedwell was a local dishwasher who was questioned at a local motel for three days (Sigona). What supported Bedwell as a suspect is that he actually confessed to the murder (Sigona). There were multiple problems with Bedwell’s confession, however. The first problem with his confession is, “Bedwell couldn’t read or write, so it would be nearly impossible for him to understand what he was confessing to” (Sigona). The second problem with his confession is “After a time, everyone realized Bedwell’s story didn’t add up. There were inconsistencies, including the fact that Bedwell said he was with the girls for a month before they died” (Sigona). Finally, the main problem with his confession is that the girls were dead within four hours of leaving home (Sigona). The other suspect in the case of the murder of Barbara and Patricia Grimes is Max Fleig. Max Fleig was a young man in his teens when the Grimes sisters were murdered (MacGowan). Max offered to take a lie detector test, which he failed (MacGowan). The reason Fleig was released even after failing the test is “The police began to focus on him as a prime suspect until they were told that it was illegal to polygraph someone underage. The police released him, many of the authorities thinking he was their man” (MacGowan). Another example that supports Fleig as a suspect is that he was imprisoned later in his life
...county has presented was the odor of the car smelling like decomposing human body. The media to me made the case seem more one sided that she was guilty right off the bat the prosecutors must of have the same feeling that will lead up to little evidence they will provide in the court room. In my opinion I do think Casey Anthony is guilty on count of murder she was lien to everyone about everything, steal money from friends and family, and still trying to go out partying when she should have been caring for her daughter. There is not one parent that will go thirty plus days without knowing where their only child is. Even though she lied to law enforcement about her daughter where beings have been for the pass month, it was not enough evidence to convict her of murder in the first degree the charges that the county was actually trying to charge against Casey Anthony.
After April and Roger search desperately for Cheryl, they look for several weeks, and have no idea where she has gone. One night Cheryl’s friend Nancy calls April, and explains that she was leaving with her, but she had left suddenly and believes she is going to do something bad. April remembers that Cheryl told her how their mother committed suicide, by jumping off the Louis Bridge. When they arrive at the bridge a group of people say they saw a women jumped off and commit suicide about five minutes before they arrived.
I really do like that. I've screwed up everybody. I've screwed up my whole family" (Staudte, ABC News). Later it was discovered that her 22-year-old daughter Rachel, was also involved after evidence was found written in a diary at their home.
The blood of the unknown person became apparent through comparing the blood type found at the crime scene with the contrasting blood types of the suspects. The blood identified at the crime scene could have possibly belonged to Anna Garcia or Erica Piedmont. This observation was based on the information that the blood type found at the crime scene was type A and these two individuals are the only ones that carry that specific type. In similarity, a microscopic photography was taken of the unknown hair follicle found at the crime scene. Then hair samples were taken from the potential suspects, and the victim. These findings were then compared. This was done by looking at each individuals hair follicles and comparing it with the unknown one. By looking at the similarities and differences in medulla diameter, the discovery of the unknown hair follicle became established that it belonged to Anna Garcia. Further examination resulted in the analyzation of a shoe print found at the crime scene. Shoe patterns and sizes were taken from each suspect, including the victims. They were then identified and compared to the one found at the crime scene. By looking at the distinct pattern, size, and the fact that both shoes were a Columbia brand sneaker it became obvious that the shoe print was extremely similar to Anna’s shoe design. Through this found evidence it became

Blood stains are one type of evidence that can be found at a crime scene. Blood that is still in the liquid form should be picked up on a gauze pad. Once the blood is dried thoroughly it should be refrigerated and sent to the Laboratory (Andrus et al., n.d., para. 1). If the blood stain is found dried on clothing, the officer should wrap the piece of clothing in clean paper and place it in a sealed and labeled container. An object with dried blood stains needs to be sent to the Laboratory if it is small enough. If the object is too large to send, then using a clean knife the stain needs to be scraped onto a clean piece of paper, which then can be folded and placed in an envelope (Andrus et al., n.d., para. 2). When collecting autopsy blood samples, the officer should request that the pathologist obtain the sample directly from the heart and place it in a yellow or purple stoppered vacutainer. If the victim is still alive but in serious need of a blood transfusion, then the pre-transfusion blood sample needs to be obtained promptly before the hospital discards it (Andrus et al., n.d., para. 4). It is important for the Laboratory to receive all blood samples within 48 ho...
