1. How long have you been cheering? How long have you been in the Vermilion program?

I have been cheering for a total of 14 years. At the age of 4, I began cheering in the youth program at the Vermilion Recreation Department and occasionally took classes at the Vermilion Family YMCA. For the past 6 years, I have been a member of the cheerleading programs at Sailorway Middle School and Vermilion High School. I am a three-time Varsity Letterman of the VHS Basketball Cheerleading Squad, Co-Captain of the VHS Competitive Cheerleading Squad, and Coach of the Youth Cheerleading Program for the Vermilion Recreation Department.

2. What’s your favorite Vermilion cheerleading memory? (Can be from you cheering, from when you were a kid, this season, whatever you want)
One of my favorite memories from Vermilion Cheerleading was being apart of the same program with my older sister. During the 2014-15 season, she was a Senior and I was a Freshman. The summer before the season kicked off, the VHS Cheer Program attended a camp at Denison University. Not only was it fun to work together, but it was also fun to challenge each other to become better. It was this summer that turned us into more than just sisters – we became best friends.

3. What are you looking for out of your senior year? (For you and for the squad) …show more content…

Throughout my experience as a VHS athlete, I have learned to be an effective leader, work well under pressure, manage my time, and most importantly, be able to put the team before myself. Currently the Vermilion Competitive Cheerleading Squad is preparing to compete in the State Competition in March. I am so proud of us as this has not been done before. My biggest wish is that no matter the outcome, we leave Columbus knowing that we gave it our all and arrive back in Vermilion with great
