Charity's Negative Effect on the Society From a Christian Point of View

I disagree with this statement. Charity is ultimately modelled on

following and living out the example of Jesus in our daily lives. It

is an act of love on behalf of Christians. The main intention for

charities is to give help to others and to offer support.

Christians, who believe that the giving of charity work does work,

argue for example that less economically developed countries would

suffer more without charity support. Many have recognised that just

giving money to developing countries, e.g. Southern Africa could

promote laziness and complacency. So many Christian charities now try

to give aid by providing equipment for farming, education through

teaching and skills that can actually be used to develop the country.

This would prevent, giving money to a developing country and the money

falling into the wrong hands or it being used unnecessarily. The poor,

especially those suffering in countries such as the Southern Africa

are at present suffering from poverty on a much greater scale. They

receive limited health provision, financial and social support from

their government.

This is where charities like CAFOD help people who cannot help

support such as education and health care.

of all people in the sight of God. All who have been baptised share in

the risen life of Christ, and CAFOD tries to "bring the good news to

the poor" (Luke 4:18) as Jesus did. CAFOD is a way of being with

Christ who is hungry, thirsty and in need.

Moreover, most poor people whether in western or developing countries

are uncomfortable and embarrassed, as they take charity out of

necessity not choice. If given the choice, most people who have
