There’s many opinions on what a healthy soul is. It differs from person to person depending on what they believe in and how they live their daily lives. For example, Aristotle’s opinion on a healthy soul would to be the happiest person someone can be with their intellect. On the other hand, Crito’s opinion on a healthy soul would to live a life full of wealth and popularity. Whatever a person’s opinion is, that is how they will live their life and believe that it’s the best for their soul. In my own opinion, changing the world, maintaining physical and mental stability, and religion are the most important parts of building a healthy soul. First of all, changing the world, There’s a purpose that we live in this world we are in and I believe …show more content…
From only one year of weightlifting, I can tell that I’m much more content with my life. Before I started at the gym, I would look in the mirror and get semi-depressed due to how skinny I was. It got even worse when people would make fun of me. So from personal experience, having a good physical set is very good for the soul. This kind of goes hand in hand with mental stability. The better physical side I have, the better mental side I will have. This also is correct vice versa. The better mental mindset I have, the better results I will get from trying to be better physically. One way to also stabilize mentally is to learn at school. Constantly challenging my mind is good stimulator for the brain. Engaging the brain results in new neural connections and overall improves the function of the mind. As it’s understood that the mind and soul are directly related, an improving brain results in an improving …show more content…
What happens to us after we die? This is a question that will always be on my mind and many other people. This is why I think maintaining a connection with a certain religion is important. It doesn’t matter if I’m Jewish, Buddhist, Christian, or Hinduist. As long as I pray and believe in that certain religion, my soul will not be harmed. Of course, certain religions believe certain things but honestly, religions are very similar. Comparing the morality and virtues of religions, they are all very similar. Most of all religions have some sort of afterlife. This can either be reincarnation, or just simply my soul living in heaven. Either of all ways, it somehow relates to the soul. The soul is my afterlife. Since I’m Buddhist, I believe in reincarnation. The only thing I can rely on is my soul. This will determine what I will become and how my next life will be. Therefore, having a relationship with Buddha is very important for my
Afterlife myths explain what becomes of the soul after the body dies, as humans have a problem accepting the possibility that the soul becomes nothing.
Many religions and philosophies attempt to answer the question, what happens after a person dies? Some religions, such as Christianity and Islam, believe there is an afterlife. They believe that good and moral people enter Heaven or Paradise and that bad and immoral people go to Hell. Other religions and cultures believe that death is final, and that nothing happens after a person dies. Buddhism and Hinduism have different ideas about death.
The five Eastern religions of Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Daoism, and Shinto have some similarities when it comes to the their beliefs on death. Hinduism and Buddhism both believe in karma and reincarnation, while Daoism and Shintoism revolve their beliefs around nature. Confucianism chooses not to focus on things we do not know, so their beliefs on death are limited. In deciphering the different beliefs on death associated with each religion, it is important to understand the different belief systems and their origins. While some religions merged the views of the other religions, some came from the views of an originating founder. Each religion has their own view on life after death and whether or not their followers should be concerned
In everything we do, we are driven by a common mission and to improve the quality of life for everyday people around the world.
Christians, for example, believe that souls that have lived by the words of their God will exist eternally in heaven as divine beings themselves. This conception of an afterlife is generally what we people who are residents of the Unitied States hold to be true. For American culture has its roots in Europe and European culture was and is still influenced by Christian faiths. Similar to Christianity, the Hinduism also eases the fear of death by presenting a life after death. Disimilarities present themselves in the two faiths concerning exactly what kind of afterlife is lived. Believers of the Hindu faith expect to be reincarnated after their demise, either as an animal or human being depending on the manner in which their lives were carried out.
“Life is a balanced system of learning, adjusting, and evolving. Whether pleasure or pain; every situation in your life serves a purpose. It is up to us to recognize what that purpose could be.” - Dr. Steve Maraboli
In the western world, a dominant belief is that after life, a person’s soul is sent to a place of eternal bliss, heaven, or a place of eternal damnation, hell. To Buddhists, this concept is not the norm. Buddhists believe that a person is reincarnated into another life form, either human or animal. What life form a person is reincarnated as is determined by the person’s karma. The concept of karma not only affects reincarnation, but also what path a person’s life takes. While much of the concept of karma is believable and comprehensible by a person of any denomination, some aspects are dependant upon a belief in reincarnation and that a person will eventually be punished for his sins or rewarded for his good deeds, whether in this life or the next. At the same time, in order to believe in how reincarnation works, a person must understand the idea of karma.

Fitness makes you more confident and improves your self-esteem, key for ridding anxiety and depression. Fitness makes you set goals for yourself, motivating you to improve yourself everyday. It gives you a boost of energy after, making you feel like you can conquer the world, or to just do your homework.
What happens when I die? This is a question that everyone has asked at some point in life, and yet the answer remains a mystery and a point of major debate. Because the thought of the “lights shutting off forever” is scary for a majority of people, various religions, philosophies and ways of thinking have been created to explain the meaning of life and give people something to look forward to after their time on Earth comes to an end. These belief systems typically espouse a set of rules or practices that must be followed in order to reap the divine rewards of heaven or paradise in the afterlife. In addition, religions and belief systems will often try to convince their audiences that their way is the right way. Two books
Spiritual wellness greatly concerns our connection to God. It involves our attitudes, actions, behaviors, and values. It exists to give purpose and meaning to our lives. It provides the core for all other aspects of wellness. From a Judeo-Christian perspective, spiritual health involves being restored in our relationship with Christ Jesus. This means believing in Him as Savior and accepting His salvation. To take it a step further and be spiritually well, a person needs to live for God every day. One should be continuously submitting themselves to God’s will and living a life like Christ. Spiritual wellness is absolutely essential to our overall health. When a person is spiritually well they can easily define their basic purpose and express the values that they hold dear. The ability to do this contributes to our satisfaction with life. This then leads to our ability to demonstrate spiritual wellness effectively. To exhibit spiritual wellness a person must learn to forgive. When we can give forgiveness to others it provides peace for ...
What is going to happen to us when we will die? Some people never considered what it could happen to them after life. For many people, death is a redoubtable event because they do not know what to expect after their death. However, other persons, such as religious people are conscious of what to expect after their death because of their beliefs. Each religion has different ideas and different ways of looking life. Death, therefore, is viewed by different religions in many ways. Although, different religions have a distinct conception of death, they all have something in common: they all give hope to people. Among all different religions in the world, four of the most common ones - Catholic, Jewish, Islamic, and Hindu- view death in different ways.
The soul is defined as the "vital principal" or the principle of life. It is the first source of life in a living being. It is the thing that makes a living thing live. It is the thing that separates living beings from non-living beings. (1) It is the first source of life in a living being. It is the thing that makes a living thing live. With this in mind, it is evident that all living things have a soul; this includes animals and even plants. However, just like there are different grades of life, there are different grades of soul. Unlike animals and plants, human beings have a rational life; therefore, they have a rational soul.
Everyone has a purpose and a calling in life, and it is our duty to find what that
According to the text, wellness is defined as an "integrated and dynamic level of functioning oriented toward maximizing potential, dependent on self-responsibility." It involves both preventive health behaviors and a shift in thinking and attitude. Wellness is a lifelong promise to oneself of growth and achievement in each of the seven dimensions: emotional, spiritual, physical, occupational, intellectual, environmental, and social. It means a lifetime of ongoing change and always striving toward higher levels healthy and successful living. This means, ultimately, that one must live a life that caters to each of those dimensions both individually and collectively. Not living a healthy lifestyle, can have damaging effects on both health and life, and not only yours but the people that are around you. An unhealthy lifestyle means more illness and more expenses to treat those illnesses. This means a bigger burden on an already challenged and over-budgeted healthcare system. Poor health also means more time lost at work, less quality recreational time, and shorter lifespans. Not to mention, the onset of major chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and cancer.
I thought that, like many other religions, there was a desirable and undesirable place to go to after death. Hindus do not believe in a heaven or hell. They believe in rebirth and this happens depending on their karma. Karma is the computation of a person’s actions. An individual’s karma will decide on what they will be reincarnated as in their next life. Their goal in life is to become one with Brhaman and this happens when there is no more karma. There is no more rebirth and karma has equalized, meaning it has balanced. The person is immersed into Brahma and they are forever with the ultimate. An example of this is how a river flows into an ocean. This stage is called Moksha and that is the ultimate
