The Hunger Games is a great movie that connects to many emotions. The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins, is a movie about a girl (Katniss) whom has lived her whole life in constant hunger in the battle for food. She lives in the 12th distract out of 13 and all of the districts get together and have a televised broadcast of citizens ages 12-18 from each district fighting to the death over food for their district. In the end Katniss’ younger sister, Prim has been chosen to fight for her district, in the end Katniss volunteers as tribute (in place) of her younger sister. And then Katniss proceeds to promise her younger sister that she will win the games and return home to her family. There are many factors that play a role in making the hunger games a great movie, such as, the storyline, character development, the violence, and the idea of a film based on a dystopian society. …show more content…

To begin with Katniss and Peeta, we see them begin the movie as total strangers who are both trying to make ends meet in the hard times of their district, then transforming into the “star crossed lovers of district 12” who go on to be the heroic winners of the games and saving their district from total destruction. These two characters go through a complete and drastic character change and are very static characters. Every character in the film goes throughout a change, some have more drastic changes than the others, but every character changes in favor of Katniss and Peeta. The character that changes the most has to be Katniss, she seems to have matured by the end of the film. She is influenced by many internal and external conflicts that help her character development. For example, she is unsure about her love interest, Peeta at first, but then she ends up conflicted within herself and she has to discover if she truly cares about him or if she is using him merely to escape the
