The Bully, Character Analysis Have you ever seen a bully from elementary or middle school, that you haven’t seen in a while? The story is called The Bully by Roger Dean Kiser. The story is about a man Roger who is sitting in a diner and then Tony’s wife comes and taps Roger on the shoulder. Tony remembers Roger but doesn’t remember him. When Roger remembered who Tony he was very despondent. Roger is a kind, masculine, and forgiving type of guy that has changed a lot since middle and high school, being kind is important because it shows how Tony perceives Roger. He forgave Tony, the bully, for how he treated him as kid. Roger doesn’t hole grudge because he is being the bigger man. He is even trying to make a former bully his friend. He gives Tony his card so they can talk and have lunch. Roger is trying to get over the past, forgive and forgive. Letting bygones be bygones. To conclude, Roger is an overall kind, masculine, and forgiving man. Even though, Tony bullied Roger when they were in school. He is trying to be friends with a former bully. He doesn’t seem as he would be the type of man to hold grudges. He tries to find the positive side of a situation. He has changed since from the younger days. Also, he is a helpful and kind man. The story could end one of two ways, either the odds could be in his favor or they could not be in Roger’s favor. One way the story could end is that they could go out to lunch and over time they could become friends. Roger could get a call from tony within a week and they go back to the diner and talk about their lives after school. Another way that the story could end is that Tony may not call him and Roger ends up lonely with no friends and now he is sad. Roger could be waiting to hear from Tony and he hasn’t called in a week or two. Tony could take his haughtiness and not call Roger because his is still a bully in his heart and
