Trying to be brave “Scout’s Honor”by Avi it is a Realistic fiction short story about three boy that want to be like a man. In the beginning these boy wanted to go on a camping trip and they thought they brave and strong. The main character said he was going camping by himself but two boy said can we go with you.he said sure let's go camping so they all went to go get there stoff and pack. The boy all came with some weird things and things that they really did not need. The boy tried to be brave and tough. One way the three 9-year-olds were unprepared is that they did not know how to get to a different state. They were in the subway station and did not know how to read the the maps in there. The boys brought wierd things and some of the things they did not know how to use them. In paragraph 32,33,34 the author says that they brought thing like cans of beans,matters,celery soda,Tootsie rolls,packet of hot dogs,pillow,and mustard.this means they need to know or ask what is good to bring for a camping trip by yourself. This proves that when you are young you are going to need to learn about camping. But you should learn about it with an adult. And ask they what to bring for a camping trip with a few friends. Last but not least the three 9-year-olds are unprepared that why they are not brave or tough. The boys had to go over a bridge and they were very scared and did not know if they wanted to do it anymore. In paragraph 47 the author says that there was max all around him like fake snow in a glass ball were crumbs he chowed all his crackers nervously. This mean that they need to stick together like glue and make sure that no one of them gets left behind. This proves that my thesis because they are not prepared because they left him behind.
