I promised myself that I would read Let Your Life Speak with an open mind and unguarded emotion. What I revealed as I begun reading was pure delight. I detected a connection with the author, as I too wrestled with hunting for a vocation true to my heart. Palmer articulated beliefs that delivered clarity as to why I experienced negative feelings from my pursuit of vocation. I too felt lost and contended with anxiety and mild depression in my early thirties. An inordinate amount of my pain ensued from my search for purpose, self, and passion.
Chapter three is my favorite segment of the novel. I appreciate how Palmer comments how one can be ignorant to their strengths and gifts. The questions pertaining to chapter three, permitted me to reflect on how and why my journey was crafted. For instance, my interpretation of leadership has changed. I value the ideology that leaders come in many forms and possess diverse qualities. In fact, I perceive myself as a leader. Leading carries challenges, but knowing that leadership originates from the heart provides confidence for achieving. I enjoyed the concept of approval and the influence approval has on my life. Approval is from within, its love of true self.
I look forward to picking up Let Your Life Speak and revisiting the book on occasion. Let Your Life Speak is a reminder of my journey to discover meaningful
