After reading chapter 7 in the textbook, someone that came to my mind that I admired for hir creativity is Eugenio Derbez. He’s an actor, writer, director and producer. I see his creativity on all his TV creations. He also has the ability to transform and create funny TV series as well as many famous characters all based on real life situations such as the TV series “Vecinos” or the character of “Armando Hoyos” When I used to live in Ecuador, where I grew up, I remember watching the TV show “Vecinos” which translated in English will be “Neighbors”. Throughout the years, and throughout various forms of media, some of the greatest creative minds have been the victims of the most unfortunate circumstances. For many, their major problem is that of addiction, and one could say that it affects their work, for better or worse. For example, a writer’s prose usually is affected at least partly by the author’s inner dialogue, and thus, the author’s problems get mixed in with their writings. There are classes within schools that help utilize creativity, but they are not taken seriously by adults in society. Therefore, the value of creative knowledge decreases. So,I would recommend this article to be discussed at teachers’ meetings in different types of educational institutions because the criteria of successful and creative teaching the author identifies in his article are universal and simple at the same time: just be dedicated to your job, care about your students, and don’t be afraid to learn and use new ideas in your classroom. Hence, creativity in the classroom often begins with a good teacher.
Many believe that people are born with an innate level of creativity that is later on influenced by the environment in which they are raised. Schools are one of the most influential environments in which people spend an average of eight hours a day. Whether it be a public, private, or home school environment, these early surroundings that children are exposed to shape their creativity. As students, parents, and even teachers we don't realize the effects that the education system can have on ones creativity. The public education system is defined by two main ideas, what are the most useful subjects for work and ones academic ability. So, where does this leave creativity? Due to the ideals of the education system, creativity can be seen as unvalued or even stigmatized. Understanding the correlation between the educational environment and creativity can help positively influences the progress of the individual as well as their society.
