Your appeal dated December 9, 2016, has been reviewed. The grievance response you received adequately addressed your complaint regarding the Certified Religious Diet (CRD) meal, which was served in a paper bag. Food Service Manager II Trish Rogers stated, “When the meals are prepared all of the food is prepared in a plastic container or is prepackaged and then placed in a brown paper bag and doubled sacked so the food would not have been contaminated. All sacks when they leave food service are placed in clean tubs and could possibly have been wet, but the food would not have been contaminated.” You failed to provide any additional evidence to support your claim. Your appeal is

During these past weeks I had the opportunity of participating in different methods and tools to assess the nutrition department’s quality in food and service, the staff’s performance and global survey. Morrison Healthcare is in charge of providing nutrition services to the patients at College Medical Center (CMC), their primary objective is to provide quality nutrition related services to patients. Meal rounding gathers information from the patient’s perspective which helps gather information to indentify strong and weak areas in the quality of the food and service. The catering associate’s (CA) receive various accuracy evaluations of performance and knowledge, if the outcomes are not very favorable then an action plan is set in motion to
The food that they serve here at HVHS is picked and made by professional’s. They are to do what they are instructed to do and make by the government. You often hear people rant and rave about cafeteria food, you could have heard this through movies, or just from peers. Jackson is no exception. While I will give the food here at Jackson a passing quality factor, the measly portions lead me to believe the schools on some type of welfare system.
The general misconception about kosher food is that the food is blessed by Rabbi, or merely means clean and hygienic. There is no such blessing can make the food itself becoming kosher or non-kosher, even though Jewish ritual does recite a blessing before the diet. In summary, “Kosher is a comprehensive dietary discipline designed to promote Jewish spirituality.” So, what exactly kosher diet is about? Furthermore, is there any rule for kosher diet? Finally, how is the business of kosher food industry?
Their claim is valid because it gives sufficient evidence and does not express feelings. This means it is logos. Evidence that shows this is, “ The proposal contradicts the dietary guidelines which encourages americans to eat white potatoes and other vegetables high in potassium and fiber.” This shows the older dietary guidelines were healthier than the new updated ones that USDA are trying to enforce because the new guidelines are encouraging people to eat foods that contain fats. The author of School Lunch Standards Miss the Mark was successful in presenting the argument because they have a good claim, logical reasoning , and it gives statistics. The author does not back up the claim with opinions which makes this argument
Nutrition, I have learned plays a big part in our life. To be honest I was clueless about how much nutrition affected our everyday lives. I love going to the gym working out, now that I know what should go into my diet I think I will see a lot more improvement. I occasionally follow the latest diet fads because I believed it would be better for my health, but in turn it really hurt more than it helped! This Diet Analysis project has been extremely useful course because I can personally relate to it and can use much of the information learned to my daily routines. The Diet Analysis project was a real eye opener because it let me see what exactly I was putting into my diet.
In the United States, nutrition screening is a part of inpatient admission. The Joint Commission requires a nutritional screening to be completed within 24 hours of inpatient admission (Treas & Willkinson, 2014). Proper nutrition is important for staying healthy and is particularly vital for the elderly. For the purpose of this week discussion this learner will concentrate on explaining the health status of a 81 year old patient who presented at the primary care for a routine visit. We observed the patient height is around 72 inches and weight is 135 ponds. We will calculate the patient Body mass index (BMI) and interpret the result. In addition two specific assessments will be perform and included the rationale for each one.
The Western Diet mainly consists of fried foods, refined grains, sugar, high carbohydrate and fats, and meats (3). It has been hypothesized that having a Western Diet increases one’s chances for developing depression. There has been a great deal of research into why the western diet increase’s one chance of having depression. A common sense reason maybe that the Western Diet consisted of large amounts carbohydrates, fats and sugars which promotes obesity and then causes depression (1). More scientific evidence suggest that having a improper diet like the Western Diet negatively affects peripheral and central dopamine, which are neurotransmitters (chemical which transmit signals across the synapse from the nerve cell to the target cell) directly linked to the mental health of the brain and are negatively affected by high fat diets (4). Research has also suggested that having a poor nutrition status such as lacking folate (a natural water form of vitamin bg which is crucial for many of the bodies processes) and key vitamins like vitamin b12 significantly increases the risk of depression in elderly people (5). Research into the topic of dietary habits and mental health is very crucial with the growing rates of obesity and depression in the United States compared to the rest of the world. Thus, does having poor dietary habits increase the likelihood of having depression? The likelihood of developing depression has been linked to the type of diet one consumes such as the Western Diet, Diets Low in Fat and Carbohydrates and weight control diets like binge eating.

Most Americans do not care enough to take a look at the nutritional values of the food that he or she is consuming. That is why America has the highest percentage of obesity in the world. This is a serious problem because one in every three adults is obese, and one in every six children is obese. There are many factors that go into the regular American diet, but most of those factors are not appealing nor is it healthy. Americans put way too much processed food into their daily diet. Some would say that other countries diets superior the American diet because of nutritional values that it carries. Other countries have proven that an active lifestyle is a huge element in the average weight of the country. There are many things that Americans could change about their diets and lifestyle that would help them to become healthier.
McDonald's mission was to provide customers with quality food at a low price with a focus on the speed, service and cleanliness they received while patroning one of their restaurants. The case focuses on a specific segment of the McDonalds restaurant chain that was opened in 1996, McDonald?s India. This segment of the restaurant giant had a more specific mission/philosophy to fulfill and had developed a special menu for these Indian customers to take into account their culture and religion. When it was realized that beef extracts were found being used in producing McDonald?s fries, outraged vegetarians and Hindus across the United States and Canda filed a class action lawsuit. Along with this, riots and demonstrations at restaurants in India took place, with mobs calling for the closure of all McDonald?s in India.
