Jackson Sucks (The obvious, and not so obvious reasons)
If there was a website for this story it would be www.jacksonhighsucks.edu. Theres no other way to say it simply…Jackson is the worst thing since Alf. Being a senior, that means I have been here for four years (Sadly, this is the only thing I have ever learned from this establishment.) Yes, that’s four years of pain and misery, so I will detail to you why Jackson has been such a torture.
O.K. maybe it wasn’t such a torture but you know what I mean. Don’t get me wrong I love high school, and it will suck to be leaving this place to go to college (Western Washington University!! GO Vikings woo!!! Extreeeeme!) but at the same time I am ready to leave this dump. I constantly hear on a day to day basis in the hallways rants and ravings about how this school sucks, so obvious or not it is not only me. Everyone loathes school, but what makes Jackson so different that it sucks so much compared to other schools? I mean, what sets it apart that makes it so unique? Today I will bring up a couple points with you. Some reasons why Jackson sucks is because of the academic quality Jackson possesses, the administration, the ASB (Or lack thereof), the student body (YOU), and finally school lunches.
School lunches
First we will tackle the most important of issues I want to discuss. School lunches. A look at these lunches will surely disappoint any student. Not only a student, but if some Somalian kid were to dine at our very very fine five star establishment, they would be like “Whats going on? Wheres the food? I WANT THE FOOOOOD!!"
You often hear people rant and rave about cafeteria food, you could have heard this through movies, or just from peers. Jackson is no exception. While I will give the food here at Jackson a passing quality factor, the measly portions lead me to believe the schools on some type of welfare system.
Its about 11:30, and many students haven’t eaten some breakfast, so they are starving. So starving they are at the point of eating REAL baby back ribs (*background noise* “that’s what I’m talking about!”) if you catch my drift. The lines are long and there is absolutely no space to even move. There is such a lack of space for moment that there is an occasional jerk face that is walking out with this food and bumps you with his turkey gravy platter and blotches gravy excrement’s on to your face which scolds and blisters.
Jackson was very loyal to his friends especially those who helped him get into office. To reward his friends, he removed experienced officeholders and replaced them with his political friends or followers. This system is known as the spoils system. By Jackson using this system, he is guilty for undermining the economy and politically motivated action. By Jackson putting his friends in the office, meant that he had chance of winning the next election. Using this system also put the economy in danger because of the corruption and inefficiency in the office. The food that they serve here at HVHS is picked and made by professional’s. They are to do what they are instructed to do and make by the government. The food they make is not only best oh so damn good food you’ll ever eat but, it’s so nutritious and healthy for you! Plus students who go off campus for food

The novel starts off with Jackson’s life story, a lowerclass boy from the west, raised by a single mother. ...s, I requested that more jasmine rice and different rice other than white to be served. The following week, jasmine rice, yellow rice, and wild rice were served on different days of the week. More different fresh vegetables were served in the cafeteria also. The way to solve the issue with poor variety of food choices is to directly request them to the head direct of Aramark. Communication will solve most of the problems. The issue with the beverages is if Aramark gets a new contract with a different beverage distributor some of the popular drinks may not be available to other students who like them, this also goes with other food. If Aramark add certain food to the menu that student request, other foods may not be on the menu that other student like. Furthermore, requesting more healthy foods and more selections will help solve students’ desire for different food.

Outside of school kids don’t get enough proper nutrition. Everyday in the United States there are approximately 12 million children who receive a free or reduced price lunch because their families may need government help. Besides the fact that many students rely on school lunches for their daily meals, the healthier school food that schools provide is a benefit for the children because it can prevent childhood obesity as well as improve the child's academic performance. There are many kids who rely on school lunches to provide them not only enough food but healthy and nutritious foods for their health. I have been making complaints to the instructors and other students, and they consider I write to you. I understand that you are very busy, so I will make this complaint very short.
We are currently at a turning point in time. What the world does today will ultimately determine what the future has in store. We can commit ourselves to continuously working to develop sustainability in every aspect of life, or we can continue to degrade the precious environment like we have been for so many decades. While many people have discussed ways to take action, nothing drastic has been accomplished. Instead of recognizing the importance of this issue, countries turn their attention to fossil fuels and extraction in an attempt to grow their economies and power. As an advocate of sustainable development, I hope that the citizens of the world will make the right decision, but only time will tell.

Certain voices stuck out more than others; the shrill laughter of my aunt whose tone was a single octave higher than anyone else’s and a deep, nearly unintelligible rumble from my grandpa fairly close to where I was sitting. Look at almost any health statistic comparing the United States with the rest of the world, and you’ll see that we are disease ridden, overweight, and hyped up on sugar. It doesn’t take much time to realize that our unhealthy habits aren’t just a problem for adults, but that the childhood obesity rates as well as childhood diabetes rates are on the rise. In my opinion, this has a lot to do with what we are serving in public school cafeterias across the nation. On the website Fed Up you can see examples of what’s being served; grease laden pizza, grey mystery meat sandwiches, and a host of other barely distinguishable foods. Schools should be a place of nurturing minds, preparing children for their futures, and teaching them how to care for themselves. What our children are being fed though, is not food for thought; it’s food for fodder. With out of control portions, little to no supervision over what they are eating, and nutritionally lacking items, it’s no wonder why America is so unhealthy.
