In “Romeo and Juliet by: William Shakespeare” we know that they commit suicide in the end for love and we probably don’t think about it much, but in real life things like that happen. Many teens commit suicide by medicine or drugs which is shown when Romeo thinks Juliet’s dead and drinks the poison. One issue that is proven in “Romeo and Juliet by: William Shakespeare” is that alot of teens today face certain things like depression which cause Teen Suicide.
Teen suicide is a problem that many teens face because of many different things, like depression, parent problems, bullying and much more. In “Romeo and Juliet” one of the causes that also happens to teens is when teens parents are fighting or making them do something they don’t wanna do. “Hang thee, young baggage! / Disobedient wretch!” Romeo and Juliet (4.5.161) This line from “Romeo and Juliet” is an example of how and why many teens consider suicide because when a parent makes them do something they don’t want to then yelling at them on why they don’t want to do that certain thing. This can cause suicidal thoughts because of how the parents reacted and may think my parents don’t care about me which causes the suicidal thoughts.

nowadays is caused by many different things, but if you know the signs of depression you may be able to catch that early and stop it. Some research that was found on signs of suicide was that teens will give away things they held dearly, joking about committing suicide, not wanting to do many things that they love, and a sign of grades dropping dramatically. “Suicide rates differ between boys and girls. Girls think about and attempt suicide about twice as often as boys, and tend to attempt suicide by overdosing on drugs or cutting themselves.” This quote from my research is what proves on how girls think about suicide differently than boys because they get bullied on different things like being fat, or ugly is the most common problem. The issue having to do with “Romeo and Juliet” and teens today is that they are similar in many ways but different in others.
The way they are both the same is because suicide by drugs (poison) is very common and includes many different reason like in “Romeo and Juliet” they commit suicide because they were in love, today’s teens will say do the same stuff if they were in a relationship and they broke up they thought they loved the person so they decide to kill themselves because of that. There was a couple things that happens to today's teens that was in the pay parents yelling at them and making them love someone they don’t actually love. They are different because teens have many other reasons on why they would kill themselves instead of just one thing over
love. In “Romeo and Juliet by: William Shakespeare” we know that they commit suicide in the end for love and we probably don’t think about it much, but in real life things like that happen. With “Romeo and Juliet” things like this happen and we don’t think much about it which we should because this is a very big problem that every parent should know the signs of. If we don’t focus on the task now many more teens will try to commit suicide which is terrible. People need to know about how many teens commit suicide and don’t know.
Who is the most to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet? There are many opinions on who is to blame for the deaths of these "star crossed lovers." One of these opinions is that both Romeo and Juliet are equally to blame for their own deaths. Romeo nor Juliet knew how to resolve their own problems and went directly to Friar Lawrence. Whenever Romeo and Juliet failed to resolve their problem, their resolution was suicide. Romeo and Juliet also withheld the love affair between them, from their families.
Why might anyone kill true happiness? This was the case for Romeo and Juliet. There is no doubt that their death was tragic and horrible; however, the question is who is to blame for their death. Their death was simply on them they are the true people to blame. The story begins with the two family’s Montague and Capulet they rivaled each other and got in lots of fights. Soon after Romeo shows up in the scene when the pore heart broken Romeo from just breaking up with Roseline. From there the heartbroken Romeo goes to a party to get over it. Simon Virk Ms. Tsang ENG201-08 02/17/16 Unnecessary Suicide The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, published in 1597 by William Shakespeare, is a suspenseful and romantic story about two lovers whose love cannot part them from their feuding families. Although they were responsible for killing themselves, there are certain individuals who influenced them to commit suicide. Those who are most responsible for the unfortunate deaths of Romeo and Juliet include Friar Lawrence, for his selfish desire to be a hero, Capulet, for imposing an ultimatum and his disconnection from his daughter, and the Nurse, for her irresponsibility and betrayal to Juliet. Friar Lawrence’s unwise and poorly crafted plans led to the lover’s death.
Many people think that society has changed so much over the years. That the way that children act, has taken a turn for the worst, but in reality children are learning from their ancestors. Children are lying to their parents, they are sneaking out at night to be with a boy that is “the one”, children are going back into the age of Shakespeare. In the play “Romeo and Juliet” which was written by William Shakespeare in 1597, there are two teenagers, Romeo and Juliet, who fall in love with each other. These two teenagers try to do everything that they can to live the rest of their lives together, except their families despise each other, so there is no way that they can live the rest of their lives together. So, many people believe that the way that our children are growing up today is taking away the fun parts of their childhood. However in this play Juliet did many of the things that teenagers are trying to do now. Children and sometimes adults now need to realize how your actions not only affect you but also the people around you, you also need to think about the consequences of the actions you make. At first Juliet falls in love at first sight with Romeo, then she takes a potion, which causes her family to think she is dead, and then how Friar Lawrence helps Juliet with the scheming, which shows how adults have to think about others as well.
There are many things which can drive a teen to commit suicide some of them are as simple as making fun of the “fat” kid in class; others can come from the mental images from witnessing a shooting. There are four major issues which contribute to teen suicide such as depression, family problems, risk factors, and teens reactions to there climate. Depression, unfortunately, is one of the biggest factors of today’s teenage suicide problems and some of the reasons for it are from the student’s own peers, “being depressed is triggered by loss or rejection (Joan 59).” Depression can be f...

Teen suicide can result from a number of scenarios. When you hear of teens who commit suicide, a lot of people would think it's due to the most common cases which are unhappiness or depression. The individuals who usually face th...
Everyone is to blame for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo, Juliet, Friar Laurence, and Romeo and Juliet’s parents all played their own role in causing the four deaths of Romeo, Juliet, Tybalt, and Paris. It is not just one of them to blame, every one of them did something to cause the tragedy. Some of them played a bigger role than others, but everyone contributed. Fate had nothing to do with it and it was all the different characters faults. Romeo, Juliet, and Friar Lawrence’s rash decisions where the main cause of the tragedy.
Many pressures and events led to the tragic death of the “star crossed” lovers, but who took the blame for disappointing death? In the story of Romeo and Juliet written by Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet had an everlasting love. Unfortunately, Romeo was a Montague and Juliet was a Capulet. This was a problem because both parties went through an awful feud. Violence was a commonplace. When Romeo first met Juliet at a masquerade ball, he knew that he had met the girl of his dreams. He loved her and she loved him, but they knew their families would not be fond of it. Since they were aware their love was unforgettable, they decided to become a married couple and kept it a secret from their friends and family.
William Shakespeare treats death in Romeo and Juliet different for each set of characters. Some character deaths was because a familial issue, other were for legal issues. Romeo and Juliet's death was a familial issue, Mercutio’s death was a personal issue and Tybalt's death was a legal issue.
There are many factors involved in a suicide. Nock has noted that "adolescence is the time of sexual identity and relationships and a need for independence that often conflicts with the rules and expectations set by others"(as cited in New, 2012, para.8). An adolescent could feel pressure from their parents, teachers, and friends so that adolescent may deal with a big obstacle.
Suicide is the third leading cause of death for 15 to 24 year olds, and the sixth leading cause for 5 to 14 year olds. Suicide accounts for twelve percent of the mortality in the adolescent and young adult group. Young males are more common than young woman suicides. These are only children who followed through with the suicide. For every successful suicide there are fifty to one hundred adolescent suicide attempts. In other words, more than five percent of all teenagers tried to commit suicide, and the number is still rising. It is scary to think that four percent of high school students have made a suicide attempt within the previous twelve months. In a small safe town like Avon, in the Avon High School where you and I practically live, you can see the faces of 22 students that have tried to commit suicide. That is enough to fill a classroom.
The National Library of Medicine’s website states that most people who commit suicide do so because they are “trying to get away from a life situation that seems impossible to deal with” (“Suicide”). This idea is prevalent in William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The main characters, Romeo and Juliet, fall deeply in love at their first meeting. Unfortunately, it is not meant to be, due to the fact that they are from feuding families. They disregard the feud, however, and secretly marry just two days after meeting one another.
Teenage years are the hardest times. Your having changes in your body, going through relationships, and trying to plan your future. When you go to look for answers, it seems like no one has them. That's what starts teenagers to feel alone. When they feel this way they will try to "medicate" themselves by drugs and alcohol or violence. Studies show that teens who feel this way are at high risk for suicide. Suicide, intentional, self-inflicted death. A uniquely human act, suicide occurs in all cultures. People who attempt or complete suicide usually suffer from extreme emotional pain and distress and feel unable to cope with their problems. They are likely to suffer from mental illness, particularly severe depression, and to feel hopeless about the future. Suicide is becoming a public-health problem. It is now the leading cause of death worldwide. Researchers believe mental illness in young people are the cause of the increase in suicide. Not only do suicides rates differ between age groups but also men and women. Men succeed in more suicides but more women attempt. Methods of suicide can differ from drug overdose to hanging. Poisoning or overdose is the least amount of suicide rates. Hanging is the leading method worldwide. The United States has 60 percent suicides committed by guns. Where it is less easy to get a gun in Canada there is only 30 percent committed suicides. Only 15 to 25 percent of those who kill themselves leave suicide notes. People often think suicide is caused by difficult situations such as failure in school or marriage. Experts believe those are just triggers and its really caused by the brain, genetics or social forces. The majority of people who kill themselves are suffering from depression. Researchers believe that genetics play a role in suicidal behavior. They believe it runs in the family. There are also some psychological theories. "Suicides have three interrelated and unconscious dimensions: revenge/hate, depression/hopelessness, and guilt." said Karl Menninger. Many suicide attempts are a cry for help and to try to get attention. Soem socialogical theories show suicidal people don't know how to cope with stress well. They are also probably suffering from a loss of a family member. There are ways to help prevent suicide. If recongized early you can get psychiatric help and get on medication. Some risk factors can be people with mental illnesses, or substance-abuse disorders.
