Most animals are susceptible to the development of cancer at some stage of their life. Among all types of cancer, squamous cell carcinoma is one of the skin cancer that commonly affects domestic animals. Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma is a type of cancer caused by neoplasms arising from the squamous epithelium of an animal regardless of species. However, this essay will only focus on this condition among felines since my chosen species is a white cat called Rosie. There are several forms of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma among felines, which are known as solar keratosis and multicentric squamous cell carcinoma in situ, sometimes known as Bowen’s-like disease, but in this case, Rosie is diagnosed with
Basal Cell Carcinoma often abbreviated as (BCC) is the most frequently appearing form of skin cancer. They are also referred to as Basal Cell Cancer. It was discovered along the way as skin cancer was being treated as different types with no specific period. The BCCs’ are uncontrolled growths that normally arise in the skin’s basal cells. These cells lie in the deepest layer of the epidermis which is the outermost layer of the skin. BCC’s are normally caused by a combination of two things; one is cumulative UV exposure and the other is intense occasional UV exposure. The most vulnerable, according to a research done, tend to be people with fair hair, blue eyes and fair skin and this is because they tend to burn easily. The BCCs’ may first appear as a small white flesh or a colored bump that may bleed. Other normal appearances may look like open sores, red patches on the skin, pink growths, shiny bumps or scars. 80% of Basal Cell Carcinoma cases are mainly found in the head and neck that is the body parts that are mainly exposed to the sun. The nose also tends to be most vulnerable and according to a recent study done, 40% of BCC that were diagnosed on the head and neck were adjacent to the nose.

I have chosen to write about the constellation Cancer (The Crab). I chose Cancer because it is one of only a handful of constellations that I am actually able to identify in the night sky. Cancer is one of the twelve Zodiac constellations; people whose birthdays fall between June 21st and July 22nd have Cancer as their sign. Cancer is the Latin word for crab, and despite the fact that the constellation looks more like a lobster then a crab, it is still referred to as a crab. The constellation is visible from the northern hemisphere from late winter to early spring.

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common type of skin cancer and the most common malignancy overall with over 2 million cases diagnosed each year. It is a malignant type of skin tumor in which the cancer cells resemble basal epidermal cells. The most common locations for developing basal cell carcinomas are the head and neck areas, but they can occur on any part of the body. It is very rare that BCC metastasizes, but they are locally invasive and can cause damage to the skin, surrounding tissue, and underlying bone if they are not treated. Injury to the nerves and underlying muscles can also result. The epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and various treatment modalities of basal cell carcinoma will be discussed,
This patient has a few complaints of rough sites over his face and a bump on his scalp that will not resolve. He has a history of melanoma on his left upper back near the shoulder as well as has BCC and SCC. The patient presented with a self-detected 23mm grade 2 ductal carcinoma involving the right upper quadrant of the right. The patient performs regular breast self-examination(BSE) to detect any lump before advanced symptoms manifest. Other symptoms included nipple discharge or retraction, skin changes, alteration in breast contour, lymphadenopathy, mammographic abnormality and distant metastasis. Subsequently, a core biopsy has been done to make a definitive diagnosis, confirmed that a ductal carcinoma with surrounding DCIS (Ductal carcinoma in Situ). She underwent a wide local excision and a sentinel lymph node biopsy. It revealed a 23mm mixed DCIS and ductal carcinoma with grade 2 histology and the sentinel lymph node was negative. The tumour was oestrogen and progesterone receptor positive and non-amplified for HER-2. There was no evidence of lymphovascular invasion. The patient has no family history of breast cancer.
For the trend of the dependent variable, cancer incident rates, was decreasing over 2000-2014 overall. Although there were also some increases in between the time period, like 2001 and 2007, the overall trend was still decreasing. This was probably due to the increased public awareness towards cancer, therefore people were more willing to maintain a healthy lifestyle in order to prevent cancer. Also, Regular health check allowed early diagnosis and hence cancer cure rates increased and cancer mortality rate decreased.
The Cancer Center is a very large hospital building that offers various services. Maddie arrived on time and dressed appropriately for the task at hand each time she showed up for this assessment site. Skin cancers have been affecting peoples’ lives for hundreds of years. The worse possible form of skin cancer is melanoma. Most people aren’t aware of the damages this type of cancer can cause and the ways it should be treated. Studying the forms and main factors that cause melanoma in young Australians is very important based on all the different aspects. For this study, it is important to look into each of the samples’ background, family history, job, region, and sun expose. I hypothesis that with the help from many researchers and scientist, the study of cases of melanoma will help people better understand ways to protect themselves and what makes them more susceptible to the disease. Providing people with a more in-depth and answers on how to avoid getting melanoma and how to prevent from getting it again is an essential message for people to understand.
