Today I went to the Joe Nocera book reading at the UConn Co-op bookstore in Storrs Center. This event focused on his recent best seller “Indentured: The Epic Scandal of the NCAA.” Dr. Joseph Cooper moderated the discussion and posed two main questions for Nocera. The first question was, “What sparked your interest in college sport reform?” Nocera responded simply by exclaiming, “UConn!” He elaborated on this by explaining how the injustice UConn Basketball guard Ryan Boatright experienced over NCAA sanctions early in his career inspired him to stand up to the NCAA.
