At Grand Canyon University I am studying Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education. There are a great number of required courses I must complete before graduating. I have selected a few that have sparked my interest to discuss. Survey of Special Education: Mild to Moderate (SPD-200), this course introduces the educational needs of students with mild to moderate disabilities. Collaborations and Communications in Special Education (SPD-310), In this course I look forward to learning how to communicate with the parents of the students with disorders, this is challenging because not all parents are involved in their child’s studies but I intend on making it mandatory. Professional, Ethical, and Legal Practices and policies in Special Education (SPD-300), the objectives of this course are to survey professional ethical principles. I look forward in gaining knowledge to understand the different roles and difficult situations of Language Development for students with learning disorders, this course is to examine typical and atypical language development. These students have different communication skills, that require special attention. With this course effective and communication is necessary. Along with body language.
