The classes I’m taking right now and the ones I’m planning to take senior year are classes I believe will influence my decision in my college major/career as well as counting toward my GPA. This will help me get into schools who have medical programs that I’m considering. Also, taking AP classes can help me save money since I can earn college credit. I’m taking all AP classes, and the electives I’m taking have been classes that have helped me consider being in the medical field. Since I was in elementary school, a career path in the medical field always caught my eye. I would want to pursue a career as a nurse because I want a job that is inspiring, challenging, and rewarding; I want to be able to make a difference in people’s lives every day. My mother is a registered nurse and just from the way she talks about her patients, I can see how much gratification and fulfillment she feels from her job. From a young age, I have always wanted a job that would leave a lasting impression on others. After some research, volunteering, and years of thought in what career interests me the most in the medical field, I feel certain that nursing is a profession that will fit me well.
Why would anyone be in the healthcare field? First, there are different types of positions available. Second, this is a very rewarding career for those who enjoy caring for others. Although, most people think there are a lot of differences between certified nursing assistants and licensed practical nurses, they share the same type of work, working conditions and job outlook.
The summer of my junior year of high school, I became a Certified Nurse’s Assistant. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant has helped me support my daughter and allowed me to help other people when they need it. The process wasn't easy, but the rewards are great. The process to complete a certificate as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant starts by enrolling, completing the bookwork, and passing the state requirements.
That I would choose a career in the medical field has never been a question; I am innately nurturing and compassionate. Finding myself drawn specifically toward a career as a physician assistant is something that has occurred over my lifetime and as a result of many experiences. These experiences have developed a skill set in me that I believe uniquely qualifies me for this particular area of health care. As I considered the caregiving skills and attention to detail required of a nurse, and the problem solving and responsibility required of a physician, I realized that I share qualities with individuals in both professions. I believe that this combination of qualities defines the role of a physician assistant and it is these qualities that make me uniquely suitable for this career path.
So what is good patient care? Well a patient should always be treated with respect. And when voicing their concerns and complaints listened to carefully. They also should be showed empathy, which is the ability to identify with and understand their feelings and situation. While being shown compassion, which is seeing through the eyes of the patient. It is just being there for them when they are feeling their most vulnerable.
Nursing is a promising career that offers many rewards to caring individuals. It is more than just a job that one attends day to day. Nursing is a career that kind people get in to because they are passionate about life and everything is has to offer. They care for people they have never met before in such a way that makes the patient feel comfortable and able to relax. In a way that makes it possible for the patient to recover from whatever they have encountered. If I am going to spend valuable time and money on education, I want to a job that I absolutely love. I want to have the satisfaction of knowing that my job is safe even when times are rough. Interviewing Jennifer H, a Registered Nurse at a local Banner facility really helped me get insight on what the position has to offer. I have encountered many people who are not passionate about their job and just show up for a paycheck; choosing a job in the medical field provides people with the same check, but also offers job security, advancement opportunities and numerous benefits for the employee and their famil...
