Program Goals Paper My future career plans is to be an art therapist. This suits me as I have an interest in working with adolescents or adults with developmental disorders and I have a love for the arts. I also think I am good at listening to people, so the art therapist career plan combines the counselor side of me with the artistic side. My other choice would be a fashion writer or editor because I always had an interest for the fashion industry, since my mom is a seamstress who graduated from FIDM. Also, it would suit me as I like writing as a creative outlet, through poetry or my journaling. My professional goals include finding an internship as a Communications intern, as I can develop more insight on what the communications department of an organization does or any internship that has to do with fashion, writing, or event planning. This is very compatible with my future career choices as it pertains to the development of skills that would help me with being a fashion journalist or a counselor. Another goal of mine is to start saving up money for a potential brand creation or online business. This

Another class would be COMM 334 - Business and Professional Communication since this would help me learn how to professionally present my ideas in a business setting. If I ever start my own private practice as an art therapist, or start my own fashion business, I will need the professional communication to market or persuade people to see my ideas or to present myself professionally in general. Lastly, COMM 431 Mediation and Dispute Resolution would help with my counseling or social work career plan as it will help me resolve conflicts more easily that are presented while working in the human services, counseling, and social work
