The repercussions of capitalism and classicism that have opposed black progress have been boldly exposed in films such as Us (2019) Dir. Jordan Peele and Sorry to Bother You (2018) Dir. Boots Riley, where these cultural systems are manifested in conjunction with sardonic dark humor and visceral psychological horror in order to demonstrate the real and brutal nature of their implications on society.
