A school’s main priority should be to keep children safe, while teaching them core values and expanding their knowledge. Is campus construction a good idea during school hours? Will the children be able to focus on what is inside of the classroom? Will the kids be safe? Will the end result be worth all of the trouble in the making? What are the effects of construction on campus? Everybody knows that construction can be very noisy! Now imagine trying to listen to a strict english teacher’s lesson. It might be kind of hard! With all of the loud thumps and bumps, there is no way you could easily devote your brain to the knowledge being offered. If a student can not focus during their class, chances are they are going to miss some important information. If this information is never heard , it can not be remembered for a test. This can cause a student to get a bad or failing grade on this test. Bad grades don’t get college scholarships. The construction has the potential to keep a student from getting good grades or even worse, getting into college. This is one way construction ...
School is a perfect example of structure. Almost every school consist of the same thing which is desks and a board to demonstrate the lesson. All the desk are facing one way so that the children have a more likely chance to pay attention to the instructor and Proper room arrangement provides predictability in students, which has a calming effect I presume. When students are better able to understand their environment and anticipate what is coming next, they tend to be less apprehensive. Their mental states are more conducive to learning new material and also a decrease in misconduct
...ce to become independent but also creates additional jobs for teachers. Corresponding to the new teachers being hired, they need to be able to generate good ideas. Usually, that help comes from references and resources on the internet. With that said, all classrooms in every building on the campus should be fully up to date with new technologies such as projectors and the latest Windows® software. Having such software makes the teachers’ life and students learning experience more enjoyable. Finally, to put a cherry on top of making Camden County College one of the best educational institutes would be to have more parking. Inconvenient is one word that comes to mind. A parking garage can help eliminate the stress about finding a parking spot and making it to class on time. All in all, accessible parking is another great way to make this an optimal learning environment.
I visited the Fremont High School campus in Sunnyvale today as they were having their Flex period. I was fortunate to have the principal, Bryan Emmert, walk me around the entire time and talk about the process; I then met with a few teachers afterwards to get their insights.
In light of recent acts of violence in the nation’s schools, school safety and security have become a hot topic. However, the issue of school safety goes beyond student violence. It includes property damage, theft, and anything else that concerns the overall well being of schools. While it is important to create a safe environment in schools it is also necessary to make sure students feel comfortable in this atmosphere. The security can not be so overbearing that it becomes a negative tactic that gets in the way of the students main objective, learning. Barely noticeable cameras, ID cards, and security guards without uniforms can help generate this safe, but comfortable learning environment. On the other hand metal detectors and mini police forces may be a little too reminiscent of George Orwell’s novel, 1984, or even modern prisons. School security should not be overbearing or obtrusive where it gets in the way of a comfortable environment that is conducive to learning in the nation’s schools.
Recently closed campus has been an argument at our school lately. Should a student have the choice to leave campus? Yes it’s a great idea but lately the school board has been putting it in our heads that that is a bad idea. Students love an open campus it gives them variety. They hate the idea of eating the same unappealing meal every day. Lunch gives students a moment to blow off steam and have some free time. Open campus gives students the time to learn to be more responsible.
What major technology change has had the greatest impact on the quality of your life?
A Way for a University to be victorious, like Iowa State University, is to set several well planned goals that not only support it’s students but also there staff and alumni. Like the Strategic Plan here on campus is to “provide a high quality student life that engages students to learn, grow, and succeed as global citizens and involved alumni.” A certain place on campus that has been doing this is the Iowa State University Memorial Union. This practical and historic landmark on campus was one of the first building built here at Iowa State University. The “MU” as it may be named calls to not only to hold ISU’s plan but it also squires goals on its own, like “nurture common ground, enrich and sustain individuals lives, and remember.”
Increase security on campuses: Security is a way for people to feel more comfortable walking around their campuses. Not only that, but increasing security provides more support for people in these situations. By increasing security, we decrease the risk for sexual assault.
...ironmental emergency such as tornadoes keeping the students safe within campus. Ultimately, closed campuses are more secure and control the environment in which the students and faculty are protected by outsiders who could potentially hurt them, or disrupt the education process in any manner.
Teachers continually learn about ways people learn – the processes of learning and how individuals learn best. They learn about their students and individuals, and learn with as well as from their students when they seek knowledge together. (Principles of effective learning and teaching, 1994). Through continually discovering new and exciting ways to help mould a constructivist classroom, the students will be able to achieve their outcomes with great ease and learn to enjoy education.
The school provides a safe environment for students to accomplish academic, social and emotional development. The leadership of a building will include effective decision making, human resource management, mission or purpose, understanding of change, relationship buildi...
Pro: By using a constructivist approach to teaching, students will be “fully engaged in their own learning” (Rhinehart Neas). This allows the students to make sense of what they are doing by relating it to the real world and where they could use the information in their future.
There are 25 major specialties in engineering that are recognized by professional societies. In any one of those 25 specialties, the goal of the engineer is the same. The goal is to be able to come up with a cost effective design that aids people in the tasks they face each day. Whether it be the coffee machine in the morning or the roads and highways we travel, or even the cars we travel in, it was all an idea that started with an engineer. Someone engineered each idea to make it the best solution to a problem. Even though engineer’s goals are similar, there are many different things that engineers do within their selected field of engineering. This paper will focus on the architectural field of engineering.
First positive externality I face on campus is staying inside because everything that I need for studying is near: faculty, library, pavilion. It does not take a lot of time to get from my college to faculty or library.
Encourage community use of school facilities: Often the school building sit empty after the end of the normal school day. Encouraging non-profit community groups to use the facilities is not only good use of resources but also provides opportunities for the schools to get involved in community projects.
