Children are very delicate and they should be taken care of whether they are concerned offline or online. Thus, USA government has placed some rules and regulation to protect the children from being victims of those who have criminal records in terms of sexual abuse, child labor, and depriving of education. The government introduced some laws for the webmasters who operate the sites gathering personal information from those who are under 13 years of age.
The firm that enforces the law, called COPPA (The children privacy protection act). It’s possible that you may be covered by this firm or may not and it depends on the site you created.

There are many ways to comply with the guideline given by this department. For example, you can include a link on your site that leads the visitors to the FTC’s official site. Make sure to have this link prominent and clear, else, you may be considered not obeying the law. This link is not required to put everywhere on your site, instead, have this link in every area where the personal information are required to insert. For instance, if you are selling the products or sharing your knowledge is required and you want to collect the personal information, add such link on the appropriated page.
In order to comply with the law, it’s necessary to provide the information of those who are responsible for collecting the personal data of children. Don’t forget to mention clearly how this information is being collected and for which purpose, the information is needed.
