C.S. Lewis is a famous writer who was born in England in the late 19th century. He died the same day that President John f Kennedy was assassinated. C.S. Lewis archived many things and many things affected his writing. Clive Staples Lewis, C.S. Lewis, was born November 29, 1898, in Belfast Ireland. On august 23, 1908 his mother died Roommate cancer. About two months after her death C.S. Lewis and his younger brother, Albert, were sent to Wynyard School in England. According to Imbornoni, the school had many rules and Lewis hated the school. In 1910 the school closed down and he was able to return home. From 1911-1913 C.S. Lewis went back to school in England. Lewis’s father died on September 24, 1929, and CS. Lewis becomes a theist. According to ”Into the Wardrobe”, in September 1931 he had a long talk with Tolkien and Hugo Dyson about Christianity and a few days later he became a Christian again. in 1933 CS. Lewis published his first major work, ”The Pilgrim’s Regress”. This book is about his own journey with Christianity. In 1935 he wrote "the volume on 16th century English literature” for Oxford which was published in 1954 and became a classic. One book that he wrote that is still considered to be a masterpiece today is ”The Allegory of Love” (1936) it is about love in Shakespeare’s time. His book ”Out of the Silent Planet” (1938) was the first of his science fiction books. Many people thought that if CS. Lewis wrote children’s books that it would hurt his reputation because before he had been known to write very serious books. His first children’s book ”The Lion the Witch and The Wardrobe” was criticized by many people. He did not listen to their criticism and finished his Narnia series. The books were not very well received by critics but gained a lot of popularity by people who read them. They are now considered to be one of the children’s classics. On April 23, 1956, C.S. Lewis married Joy Gresham in a secret civil service because her residency permit was denied. Joy had developed bone cancer in 1953. On March 21, 1957, CS. Lewis married
