Should Burqas be Banned? Banning the burqa is a huge controversy topic in France, in the Middle East there is a lot of Muslim residents. Their Muslim culture involves women wearing a hijab, which is a headscarf that leaves a woman’s eyes open. Burqas are a full body cloak that covers them completely from head to toe and is to be worn in public by some Muslim women. It is Muslim culture to be conservative and cover a woman’s features from men’s eyes, the Islamic scripture, The Quran, strongly supports that women should be covered completely: “Let them wear their head covering over their bosoms, and not display their ornaments.” (Quran 23:31). Wearing the religious uniform by Muslim women in France has become a controversial topic between oppression and their devotion to Allah. Though women should have a say in what they wear and it is part of Muslim culture, France should ban wearing burqas in public because it promotes segregation and violates the idea of equality. …show more content…
