Buddha has been a very impactful person in history for many reasons. He has made many accomplishments throughout his lifetime as a leader. He was born a wealthy prince but he left his wealth behind to pursue the path of truth when he saw the poverty and sickness in the city outside of his palace. This experience led him to drop his birth name Siddhartha Gautama. To reach enlightenment, when he was young he vowed to sit under a fig tree and meditate until he transcended suffering. When the mediation ended and when he defeated his battle with Mara (the god desire) we woke up and was known as Buddha. The 3 major tenets Buddha taught his followers were not to be ignorant, hate others, or get angry. He showed others how to lead a happy life and created many teachings and spread them to people around the world in a non-violent way. I believe that Buddha is a very good example of a leader for many reasons. As a leader you have a goal or something you’re trying to reach and Buddha had just that. For example, he left the wealth and his palace behind to find the cause of suffering and a way to end it. After many failed attempts of and strong acts of perseverance he reached enlightenment. Through all of his lifetimes he possessed all perfections, with every thought and word he was brilliant and wise. He said as he did and did as he said, he had so much integrity and truth and that’s what won him his followers. Lessons we can learn from buddha is that suffering is temporary and you can reach a point of contentment. You can follow his words and teachings to learn how to love yourself, your life and others more. He can teach us that you can go through things and persevere through them and to be more optimistic and happy with the life you’ve been
