There are so many different types of music in the world, so people can relate to the song, musician or lyrics, and they can choose their own preference in some way. There are two American musicians who affect the overall my life. They are Jason Mraz and Bruno Mars. Though Jason Mraz made his debut ten years earlier than Bruno Mars’ debut, there are many similarities between Mraz and Mars in many ways.
First of all, even though Mraz and Mars had different lives, they had a passion for music since both were a young child. Mraz was born in 1977 and lived in Mechanicsville. When he was five years old, his parents split up. Although Mraz had not good and happy family in his childhood, he didn’t wander the street in his adolescence, and he just kept challenging to achieve his dream for music.

On the other hand, Mars had an excellent musical family for his music during his childhood. Mars was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1988. His mother was a dancer and vocalist, and his father used to play Rock and Roll music. His uncle also was a celebrity who was a copycat of Elvis Presley. Therefore, Mars had many opportunities that he could easily be exposed to many various types of music and learn music. While Eminem portrays himself as being from Detroit, he is actually from Missouri. He moved back and forth between Detroit, Michigan and Kansas City, Missouri for most of his childhood. At the age of seventeen, Eminem started getting serious about wanting to be a rapper, giving himself the nickname M&M (meaning Marshal Mathers) and later decided to change the spelling to Eminem with the second E backwards as part of his trademark. He failed 9th grade 3 times, then dropped out, “School wasn’t for me” (Eminem). An education was the last thing on his mind. After throwing himself into the rap world on many levels, usually being shut down, he kept trying.
Jay-Z was born Shawn Corey Carter on December 4, 1969. He grew up in the infamous Marcy projects in Brooklyn with a sister and a brother. You would think that just growing up on the Marcy projects would be hard enough on a kid, but at the age of twelve, Shawn’s parents got a divorce. Shawn then attended the Brooklyn High school with two of today’s better known rappers, Biggie Smalls and Busta Rhymes.

He is a multiple talented artist because he can sing, write songs, and act, and he is considered a modern day crooner (Bublé, 2013). His unique vocals and musical talent helped him become a successful Canadian artist. Michael Bublé can perform in different genres, has an attractive charisma which attracts the audience to him. After performing for the prime minister and his daughter, he achieved enormous amounts of recognition from all around the world, which advanced his career into the next level. Also, he presents himself as a role model for future generation artists who are developing all over the world.
Marsalis Teague Born on May 12, 1991 in Memphis Tennessee. His Parents are Lawrence Teague and Lola M. Williams. Dominique Allen and Marsalis Teague are lifelong best friends. Marsalis was class of 2009 after that went to play UT football. He has brought hope and spirit to this town by playing for the high school then going to play ball for knoxville.
Elvis Aron Presley was born into a poor farming family in Mississippi on January 8, 1935. Originally a twin, Elvis’ brother Jesse died right after birth (Austin, 1994). Growing up, Elvis had a close relationship with his family; they regularly attended church where his love of music started to blossom (EPE, 2014). Despite his family’s financial struggles, at age eleven, Elvis received his first instrument, a guitar. Shortly after, Vernon Presley, Elvis’ father, struggled to hold down a job in Mississippi. He made the decisive decision to uproot the family to Memphis, Tennessee (Hirshberg, 1995).
Both a rapper and an MC, Tupac Shakur was a very famous artist during his short time on Earth. Better known as “Makaveli” or “2pac,” Shakur influenced many young teens and adults his age. 2Pac was born in East Harlem, NY during June of 1971. The name Tupac comes from a revolutionary leader who was killed after leading a revolution against the spanish in the 18th century. Most of the family Tupac was raised around were involved with crimes, drugs, and charge convictions. His first job in the industry as an MC was with a hip-hop group Digital Underground. Along with being an MC for this group, he was also a backup dancer and roadie. He was also featured on the group’s song for a soundtrack to a movie called “Nothing but Trouble.” He went on to record both an EP and full studio album with Digital Underground before leaving to pursue his own solo career. His first album “2Pacalypse Now” did not receive mainstream hype at it’s time but did feature artists such as Nas, Eminem, and the Game. It also reached Gold status by the RIAA. What made Tupac (also known as 2Pac, or Makaveli) so special were his enormous talent, his on screen friendly looks, and the sense that he was “real” and talked the talk, while walking the walk. Tupac was born on June 16, 1971, Tupac Amaru Shakur. He was named after Tupac Amaru, the Inca Indian that was sentenced to death by the Spaniards. He was originally from Brooklyn, New York. Tupac spent a lot of time moving around as he was growing up. He was the son of a Black Panther activist Afeni Shakur and Billy Garland. Tupac moved from Harlem, to Baltimore, to Oakland. The constant moving caused Tupac to fit into his new communities by joining gangs, and his lengthy rap sheet was created even before his profalic entry into music and film. My favorite type of music is country, and my least favorite is definitely rap. Music can have a powerful effect on the lives of those who listen, whether it is Country or Rap music. Just as people draw inspiration from music, music also draws inspiration from many sources, too.It is difficult to get to the root of creativity, but every work of art, including music, has a start. One’s opinion of what is creative or an inspiration will differ from person to person, which is why music is divided into genres.
