Peach Ring Story One summer day on May 23, 2014, I was in the kitchen all day trying to find a way to keep my little brother, and dad from stealing my peach rings. Peach rings are these gummy like candies that tasted of peach with this really yummy sugar on them. But everytime that I get to get a bag of them they are gone in the first few minutes I have them. So I came up with this genius idea to put raw spam in my peach rings so that no one would eat them. Because everyone in my family hates spam. So one day when my parents were at work I quickly had to figure out a way to put the spam in the peach rings so they won’t eat them. Then it happened I could make peach rings with raw spam in them so my family will stop eating all of them.
In the story “Peaches”, Reginald McKnight introduces his main characters, one being Marcus. Marcus is a good guy, but he is described in many different ways, due to his bad temper and immaturity level. Throughout the work, author Reginald McKnight takes great care to illustrate situations and describe feelings and personalities that many men experience. This way, even though Marcus is having trouble controlling himself around other people and arrogant at times, he still tries to be a better person for Rita and for himself. He does this by going out of the country to experience other cultures and enhance his morals. Although Marcus is strong and eager, he is actually an easily irascible, impatient, immature, manipulative, unstable man whose inexperience does not prepare him for the frequent mishaps in his life.

When I learned that I would have to do my ethnographic report on what I did during Halloween, I was worried because I live in Turnpike and the most excitement that happens in turnpike is the sound of the garbage truck when it comes to pick up the Wednesday trash. Fortunately something did happen to me and I realized I would not have to write a boring paper of how I woke up and just stayed in my room the whole day. Well the day started off with me waking up and walking to the bathroom to take a shower, as soon as the turned the water on I realized I had left my shower and rather than turning off my shower I stayed in because the warmth of the hot water was too seductive for me to get out and get my towel. In the shower I had my usual thoughts about life, death, and comebacks to old arguments. Afterword I got out of my shower and reached for my toothbrush, which was located in a cupboard behind the toilet, but I grabbed at it too quickly and it fell in the toilet. I stood over my toilet for about five minutes just staring at my toothbrush in the toilet not believing what just happened, after that I started blaming myself for being too impatient. When I was done feeling sorry for myself I went into my room in search of another toothbrush but unluckily I couldn’t find one, so I had to go walk to the local store at around 7:30 in search of a toothbrush. While searching for a replacement toothbrush I realized that not that many people were in the store, I had always thought that stores were busiest in the morning and evening but apparently that’s not true. Once I got my new toothbrush I finished brushing, got dressed and went to catch the 11 to the Transit Center.
Later that evening, as all kids do at some point on the Fourth, my friends and I left the festivities to find some fun. We were not being particularly destructive, yet there was a hint of malicious spirit in our laughter. Walking through the neighborhood, we would shoot rockets at passers-by, houses, and even each other. This half malicious fun continued for several hours, until darkness fell completely, while we waited, not knowing what we were waiting for, very tense and excited. Then the unexpected happened, and when it did, it did so with a shot.
The question of happiness is a question of the ages. There is no way to truly define happiness, only to feel it. Few, if any, can claim to know the true answer to either question. In Cao Xueqin’s The Story of the Stone, many moral lessons are taught. The first of the lessons is not in learning or achieving happiness, but on what happiness is not. The other ideal that Cao Xueqin teaches is how important enlightenment is to personal satisfaction. These morals are traditional Buddhist and Taoist guides for attaining happiness. These teachings are critically important and therefore must be learnt by the main characters of Baoyu and Daiyu. The story is incredibly constructed and the path to enlightenment lies parallel and sometimes even crosses the path of errors. The story attempts to teach that the truths in life can not be discovered until many mistakes are done and learned from.
A&P- This boy goes through the everyday struggle of work. Finally he realizes that he controls his own life he steps forward. I feel everyone should realize this in the early stages of their life. It took a group of young girls to give the boy the opportunities to step in to man hood. I believe once you stand up for yourself or someone else you have found the meaning behind the world. Which in my view is to respect and care for others.
On Thanksgiving Day, a family of four walks into Walmart to buy grocery for the family dinner that will be taking place in the evening. Mother in her brain decided to make turkey, fried rice, a Cesar Salad and pasta. She knew what food is required to make those dishes, but she was completely unaware of what was in her refrigerator. After gathering her vegetables, she planned to buy dessert to end the night with the sweet cupcakes. Later, the family arrived home with their grocery and decided to put up away for cooking supper. As the mother stacking them in their places, she realizes how much food they already had in their fridge. At the back of the fridge, the two brown bananas, the half cut onion and the green pepper are spotted. The mother then took the incentive to throw the food away since the fresh ones seemed a better option to cook and she thought disappointing the guest would be shameful.
Kai told me that the queen gave him an antidote, but only enough for one normal sized male. Dr. Erland gave me a little when he heard Peony was in her fourth stage of the plague, remembering his promise when I first arrived. His promise was that peony would be the second, behind the emperor, to get the antidote when they found one. When I got to quarantine and found her, she wouldn’t drink it. Her life drained from her eyes and she died in my arms. The androids tried taking Peony’s ID chip, but I managed to save it. That caused a ruckus that set off alarms and warning systems. While making my escape from the quarantine, I spotted Sunto, the baker’s son. I rushed over to him and made him drink the antidote. I then sprinted out of there as fast as I could.
We headed into town to explore some more. We ate some very good tacos until we got full. After that, we ran into a man trying to make money and in his hand, he had a machine with a metal rod attached to it. The whole point of it is that you pay him and he electrocutes you. I have no idea why people would pay for that, but my family did. So the man hands the metal rod to my brother and then the rest of us held hands with the person next to us, the man then turns on the machine and turns up the volts. Everyone 's reaction so super funny because some of them weren 't ready. After everyone received shock therapy, we ran into a little boy that was selling sea animals he had caught in a bucket. He had starfish, Spiny Sea Urchins, and some other animals. I asked him his age because he looked so young. He responded in Spanish that he was seven years old. I asked him if he was alone and he answered that his dad was catching fish and that he needed to make money for his family, so they can buy food. This broke my heart because he was only a child, and children shouldn 't worry about, not having enough money to eat. I handed him some money, hoping to make his day, he smiled and said "gracias" which means thank you. This small interaction made me realize how many things I take for granted every day. After spending some more time in the city, we went back to the homes and ended our
One day we went with the family to the pools, it was full. We had found a spot to stay at for the day while we were there. First, my sister Dani decided she wanted to go on the water slide, so my brother went along with her. Once they got to the top of the stairs to go down the slide, my brother went first. The lifeguard said one at a time. Once my brother got to the bottom the the slide the lifeguard told my sister to go down already.
Once there was a rainbow whirly lollipop in a candy store, who was a very proud piece of candy. This whirly pop had all the flavors of the rainbow, including orange crème. Sadly raising their faces, all the other lollipops and candies swept their eyes up at him with admiration and then swept their eyes down at themselves unsatisfyingly. The whirly pop was friendly, though, and tried to encourage others with phrases like, “Oh, I know you can’t look as fantastic as I, but you still are a pretty shade of purple.” “Now I realize that your watermelon doesn’t taste as incredible as my orange crème in the third stripe, but I’m sure somebody would like to eat you.” He was very proud. One night, the whirly pop had a dream. He dreamed that this little human stole into the store and snatched him away without paying. Of course, he was proud over the fact that someone would go to such measures as to steal him, but he felt very cheap because he did not get paid for. The whirly pop woke up the next day in a cold sweat, and he started groaning as no rainbow whirly pop had ever groaned before. His wife, who gloriously sported a popular flavor, the bubbly-fruit flavor, looked over. She asked why he was so frightened. “Oh, it was the most horrid little human who reached over and stole me! I felt so cheap!” Scorningly, his wife tossed her flavoring and looked the other way just as the candy man, shopkeeper Pedro, unlocked and shoved the door open in order to enter the shop. Spurned, the rainbow whirly pop stood still, and thought again about the last night’s dream. He felt foolish for being so frightened. So bravely and strongly, the proud pop resolved to not be bothered by the horrid dream, and moved himself over to the front of all the lollipops. A...
Awaking at 7:00 a.m. on the cool morning of December 7, 2003, I prepare for a long day. I put on the spandex and T-shirt that I will wear during the tryout at Northeastern Junior College. By 7:30 a.m., my family is walking over to the neighboring hotel's restaurant for our breakfast. It did not take long to decide that I wanted two golden-brown, buttermilk pancakes with warm maple syrup for breakfast. Both of my parents knew what they wanted right away and as usual, we were all waiting for my little sister to decide. Finally, she decided on the pancakes. It took only ten minutes to get our food and what a relief that was considering my stomach sounded like there was a lion inside. The pancakes were delicious, and my dad's biscuits and gravy was yummy. However, the cinnamon roll my mom order was hard as a rock and she had to pour maple syrup over it. That did not help it at all. After breakfast, we returned for some lounge time in the hotel room.
not always have to be so. The sympathy and compassion the main character's in The Cherry Orchard bring out in the reader should not blind them to the fact that they are virtually comic characters. For example what character could be more ludicrous then a "typical" patrician like Gayev ,whose main characteristics according to Chekhov were "suavity and elegance," turning to his sister and demanding that she should choose between him and a footman like Yasha? And is not the fact that Gayev became a "bank official" ludicrous, particularly since it is made quite clear to the reader that he would not be able to hold a job for even a month? Not to mention the love aff...
I could hear the clicking of a computer as I groggily walked downstairs to the kitchen. My dad was working at home this morning. He asked if I wanted a cream cheese bagel or something new. I’m not a bagel person so I asked for something new. Turns out it was still a bagel, but a bagel with toasted cheese and pastrami is still way better than cream cheese.
We were so happy from putting the glitter on the front lawn, because it let Santa and his reindeers know to stop at our house that night, so that he wouldn’t accidentally miss it. I bolted up,almost forgetting about the carrots. I ran to my mom to remind her to put carrots out on the back deck for the reindeers to snack on while Santa was putting the presents underneath the Christmas tree. My mom smiled, amused by my excitement, as she pulled out carrots, cut them up, and gave a handful to both my sister and I. We ran to the back door, and tossed them on the deck, satisfied by the fact that the reindeers wouldn’t go hungry that
