Starr Carter is a sixteen-year old girl stuck between her poor black neighbourhood and the fancy mostly-white prep school she attends. The balance between her two worlds is shattered when she witnesses shooting of her childhood best friend, Khalil, at the hands of a police officer. Whether it is lighthearted romances like “When Dimple Met Rishi” or the superhero adventure of “Miles Morales: Spider-man”, campaigns like Own Voices and We Need Diverse Books have promoted representation for all. Among them, The Hate U Give has been the one that no one will stop talking
