In the poetry of Bradstreet, one can see her clear individuality. What is more, in her poems the subjectivity of perception significantly reflects in the descriptions of family life and give them warmth and sincerity. For Anne Bradstreet the motives of marital fidelity and love is very crucial. Moreover, the poems, which are addressed to her husband, are full of deep love and respect. A case in point, in the poem “To my dear and loving husband” (Bradstreet 4), one can see that love for Bradstreet is exactly the marital love. The latter is the strongest love as it goes by a lot of difficulties and hardships. In addition, she confirms her love saying that she loves him as much as any woman has ever loved a man. In this poem, Bradstreet shows the deep love for her husband. It is very difficult to imagine more clear and at the same time touching love confession than these lines written by her, especially the first line “If ever two were one, then surely we” (Bradstreet 4). In her family life, she is not only loved by her husband but also is very cheerful and happy that she is married exactly to him. The evidence of it are the fourth and fifth lines where she says, “If ever wife was happy in a man, compare with me ye women if you can” (Bradstreet 4). The lines where she confess her husband saying that she values his love and will not change it with any amount of money are very touching. She says, “I prize thy love more than whole Mines of gold, or all the riches that the East doth hold” (Bradstreet 4).
