In the business word it is very critical that companies are using all of the resources available so that they can be as profitable as possible. When it comes to making travel plans for the company, using online resources instead of a travel agencies is now the more profitable option. Business travel is growing more and more every year as stated by McLaughlin (1995), “American Express Travel Services estimates that in 1994 U.S. companies spent $136 billion in travel, or an average of more than $3000 per employee -- three times what they did a decade ago” (p.1). Utilizing these resources will be way more effective and time saving.

As the employee, there is no second guessing or being worried that your travel agent booked a bad hotel and got a seat in economy class. By booking online the employee can see what they are getting and know exactly what to expect.
Accessibility. With online booking, the employee always has access to anything that changes and can contact a representative to fix the solution immediately. If the employee runs into an emergency, it can be easily resolved with a call to their representative, which is not the case with a travel agent. It saves the business time because the employee can get a flight, car, hotel, and do it all from their computer in a few minutes. The fast search engines that let the employee customize what they need saves so much more time than scrolling through a bunch of irrelevant options. By allowing the employees to book themselves, they can analyze trends in prices better, therefore being able to pick out the preferable deal. The employees increased knowledge will help them to choose the best flight paths and how to get upgrades

will only see positive results in their finances, employees, and clients. Online booking is now the leader of the business industry as stated by Glidden (2004), “ Nine out of ten companies in the U.S. with managed travel programs were using an online booking tool at the end of 2003, according to a survey by the National Business Travel Assn. and travel research firm PhoCus Wright Inc” (p.1). This change will give the entire company satisfaction and remove all the doubts and worries that come with a travel
The corporation can use its name as its strong base to attract the attention of new customers as well as to make certain that it is holding on to the old ones. Furthermore, economy of scale plays a significant role in this industry. Travelodge has a higher profitability aspect than the single operations (Wilkinson, 2013). If a new competition enters the market, they will find it difficult to compete with Travelodge as setting a proper quality and price regarding the economies of scale takes time. For Travelodge management, the capital intensive industry is tied with the fixed costs which make the entry of any entrant extremely
There have been reports which suggest the number of travel agents has increased steadily for the past 40 years. (Source: Vocational Learning; See Resources Section below) This has also coincided with the steady increase of package holidays. Jet2, being a low cost operator, has close links to the main four travel agents which organise these tour packages; Thomson Holidays, Thomas Cook, First Choice and My Travel. This benefits Jet2 as people...

Mason, K. J. (2001). "Marketing low-cost airline services to business travellers." Journal of Air Transport Management 7(2): 103-109.
IT governance in the airline industry is specifically tied to sales and value chain management. By the late 1990s, international travel software traditionally used by travel agencies, such as SABRE, was opened up via application programming interface (API) to web developers (Nicolaou & Schick, 2011). As a result, consumers saw the advent of internet-based travel agencies, and many airlines and other travel companies began to sell directly to passengers (Buhalisa & Licata, 2002).
Technology has created a major impact on the way in which all organizations market their products and services. With the development of the internet, companies are now able to economically market themselves on a global level. Even smaller companies that were once not able to capture international business due to the cost factor can now do just that. The Washington Plaza Hotel is no exception. The hotel industry in DC relies heavily on tourism as a major part of its client base. Many of these tourists who visit the city are of foreign nationality. It is important that the Washington Plaza Hotel targets these people when marketing the company. Not only do they target the tourist but they also target the international business travelers that come to the city on business related trips. The hotel's website, which gives detailed information about the hotel's accommodations and services, can be accessed by potential customers all over the world. In addition, the Washington Plaza Hotel has teamed up with such web-based travel services like Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, Etc. in order to capture more of the global market. Before the existence of the internet, the global market was not easily reachable. Technology has the greatest affect on marketing for many organizations and certainly for the Washington Plaza Hotel as well as the hospitality industry itself.

We want this vacation to run as smoothly as possible starting the first step, reservations. Families will be able to create their own personalized reservation on an online website from JetBlue, this webpage will contain all the different flight times, various Disney hotels to choose from, Disney Park passes, and other amenities. As for parents who aren’t as tech savvy, they will have the opportunity to speak with a sales rep that will guide them through all reservations that need to be made. Our distribution would be direct channel with the customer when the transaction happens online. However, we’d have an agent channel when the reservation process occurs in
The service is incredibly easy and very advantageous for people who are taking the flying route. It provides great prices to the people by directly linking them to the airlines. This helps the website draw the data regarding the pricing from the airlines which in turn allows people to know what the actual price is and this has caused a lot of acclaim for usa flight tickets. Anyone can go online and book tickets without facing high
Uber’s business model is similar to Amazon’s – an organization creates “transactional sale” and receives payments from the ones who hire “virtual kiosks”. The number of service providers is huge on this virtual market. This model helps to make full use of social resources and saves costs from warehouse rental. In Vietnam, this model is legal and developing at a fast pace. There have been several online markets such as Lazada, Zalora, Chotot, etc. Therefore, it is unfair if Uber is banned. However, Uber model is different a little bit from such marketplaces. When staying at home and accessing to Amazon, customers have plenty of time comparing, negotiating with different sellers before ordering for some books, shoes, clothes, etc. Meanwhile, when we are standing outside on the street without any means of transport, we need an instant car to pick us up to the places we desire. We hate negotiating, but we need a reasonable price along with good service. It is the reason why Uber offers four options car, according to the predefined prices corresponding quality of cars. It is clearly seen the service offerings and prices of Uber are restricted even more than Amazon or
One perspective of the traveler comes from survey results published by the National Business Traveler Association in late 1997, which represents corporate travel managers and travel service providers. The survey results indicate that record airfare increases have significantly impacted corporate travel programs. The increased airfare resulted in a significant reduction in corporate travel as well as an increase in advanced bookings for business travel, which both must equate to a monetary loss for the airlines. The survey results also mention that the higher airfares will prompt corporations to take drastic countermeasures, such as reducing the amount of corporate travel by up to 50% and redirecting business to low fare carriers. This clearly indicates the dissatisfaction with airfare increases.
Tourism is affected by the stakeholders with whom the destinations are established or the areas that are attempting to attract tourists. The customer stakeholder needs to seek out destinations and packages that appeal to their desires than accepting predetermined vacation packages. The stakeholder’s in the tourism industry need to work together to avoid miscommunication and enhance packages that appeal to clients requests. All the

The Information revolution is changing our daily lives. With the rapid development of computer and internet, online commerce become quite common and plays an important role in the modern world. The online business has booming development in these few years. US online retail sales raised an average of 11% in the first three months of 2009 (“US Online Sales Up,” 2009). The growth of online sales may due to the growing number of consumers who shop online. In the case of Asia, survey reported 77.6% of Internet users have online shopping experiences in 2003 (as cited in To, Liao & Lin, 2007). Online shopping is very different from traditional shopping.
