Two of the places where the story takes place are in Shalev and Star Valley, 18 years after a nuclear holocaust. Shalev is the main city of the four cities. It’s where Eric, his family,
The primary setting of the story is Tucson, Arizona. In chapter three, Taylor and Turtle “crossed the Arizona state line at sunup” (Kingsolver 35). The setting helped contribute to Taylor's characterization and plot. The difference between Arizona and Kentucky symbolizes Taylor's transformation from beginning of the novel compared to the end. Also, the weather in Arizona is how they wound up stuck there: “the car was cov...
The setting was in the forest in the first part of the movie. The second setting was how they had the pony express, which was for delivering mail faster. They also made the telegram but the Indians were tapping in their conversations. They also made the railroad express for taking people across the country.
The film is set in Bodega Bay - a small town by the sea. All the

This book took place in the present time. It was mostly in Madison in Andy's high school and Madison Community College.
The characters are impacted by the setting sharply because it both closes and opens possibilities as the story moves forward. At first, the setting is in Sylvan, South Carolina. The author describes Sylvan simply by stating, “…population 3,100. Peach stands and Baptist churches, that sums it up.” Clearly the setting here is not exactly note-worthy; however, quite a few events happen. Lily, the main character, lives with her father T-Ray and her opportunities are
This book has many different settings. The main setting of this book would be described as a small town. In this small town, it is very similar to Norton, Virginia. It is similar to Norton because everybody knows everyone and everyone knows about all the gossip right after it happens. The other settings include the party where Anna and Ellen drank before driving drunk. The crash site would be a significant setting in my opinion because it is where the most tragic event happened. I would conclude the hospital, where Ellen spent almost a month and Anna only spent a few days. I would also conclude Ellen’s
This novel takes place in Holcomb, Kansas. The Clutters live in the area, on River Valley Farm. It is very clear from the introduction of the book that they are going to be murdered. The story threads between this family and Perry Smith and Dick Hickock. The Clutters go on about their daily activities, having no idea what is to come. Dick and Perry slowly make their way towards the Clutter farm, with an evil plan to carry out. As they make their way to the farm, the duo make stops for supplies. Perry is shown to have came for parole, but not finding an old friend, he agrees to work with Dick. Capote goes back and forth between characters, with no correlation, only to who is the most important at any given time during the case. Dick and Perry eventually arrive at the Clutter home.
Although the main protagonist and antagonist of the novel can be seen as “Ralph and Jack”, the other boys play a significant role in the novel, as well.
Throughout the novel, A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, Mariam and Laila are constantly having their inner strength challenged from birth to death. They both had different lives growing up, but they both lived in the same society, meaning that they both dealt with the disrespect from the Afghani culture.
Caring: Peter always takes cares of his little sister Kaitya and also takes cares of the animals he owns, for example Peter taught her little sister how to write.
Amy Tintera, the author, grew up in Texas which also happens to be where her story takes place. Brilliantly, she took what she knew about growing up in Texas to improve upon her setting in creating this story. Which includes Austin, Texas divided by the rich side and the slums. Tintera also has a degree in journalism and film which may help with all the action that this book portrays.
The majority of the book takes place downstairs of Chesterton High School, where community service was held in room 104. It takes place in a small town where there are many running trails through woods, abandoned skate parks and many thrift shops.
The novel takes place in a city called Air Strip One, formerly London, England. By setting 1984 in London, Orwell is able to invoke the atmosphere of a real war-torn community where people live in ‘wooden dwellings like chicken houses’ in bombed out clearings. London in 1984 then becomes not just a make-believe place where bad things happen to make-believe people, but a very real geographical spot that still holds emotion connection for the modern
