Book Report For my book report I am reading the book Pretty Fierce, by Kieran Scott. This books genres is about young adult non-fiction. This book is about a girl named Kaia and she has a boyfriend named Oliver. Kaia’s parents are both professionals assassins and as they went on their last journey it went bad and they had been killed. Kaia still feels as if her mother is still alive and wants to go and try to find her. Kaia and Oliver both have been through a lot growing up. Kaia’s parents were assassins and she had to learn and know where they're safe house are and learned new things. As for Oliver, he had to stick through living with his abusive foster father and wants to run away. As of now he has run away from them and now is with Kaia. …show more content…
Kaia gets beaten downed by a german man and asks her where her mother is and many more questions. She runs away from her house and gets in contact with Oliver and they escape. They are both trying to leave and escape and every so now and then 1-2 people try to kidnap and hurt them to take them. In the beginning they start off on the road trip and this person follows them for a very long period of time and Kaia realizes that that's not normal. They park drive to downtown and try to escape but the lady kidnapping them eventually follows and finds them hunt Kaia and Oliver fight her and run off. Scenes throughout the book happen where they are being kidnapped. In one of the scenes two men approach and see that it's them and they try racing and start to crash into them. The car messes up so they jump out and try to run. Oliver does get hurt and as he's trying to still run and one of the guys gets him and yells,” I got one”. The kidnapper holds a gun to Oliver's head and says,” I'm going to blow Olivers brains out and then take Kaia with him.” Kaia screams saying no and if he kills him she will kill herself as well, or that if he doesnt that she will go with them too. She then proceeds to hurt the man and gets answer out of him. The man says that there are about 12 people that are trying to hunt you and that Hetcor T. has sent them out to find …show more content…
Her mother sees it and tells her to stop and that's there people trying to find her. She never gets a response from her mother when she replies and the book goes on. Kaia and Oliver discover that Kaia’s parents are alive, both her mother and father and that they are so devastated that they could help find and help them. They are happy that they found them and how there out of jail and together as a family

The book Killer Instinct by Jennifer Lynn is a great book full of romance, action and throughout the whole book trying to solve a mystery. The setting of the story is in New York in 2014. The main characters in the book are Cassie, Dean, Michael, Lea, and Stolen. Cassie is a young college student who has had a hard life her father left when she was young, and her mother was pronounced dead after she went missing a few years back. Dean is a pro/antagonist because when he was young his father pressured him into doing awful things to women he always told Dean (cut them, bind them, brand them, hang them ). Michael is a good hearted young man the same age as Dean, he is a good guy even if he likes bothering Dean.

A masterful piece of history, 1776 is not a dry retelling of the Revolutionary War, but a compelling character study of George Washington, as well as his key lieutenants, and his British adversaries, the most powerful Army in the 18th Century world. When I read this book, I went from a casual understanding of the hero George Washington to a more specific understanding of why Washington was quite literally the exact right man at the exact right place and time to enable the birth of the United States.

Chris was intelligent and well rounded, but he had several flaws, specifically his inability to make peace with his parents. He could not dismiss the mistakes his parents had made and hurt not only himself but also his entire family in the process. Lily was young, but mature beyond her age. She made impulsive decisions, such as running away with her nanny, but it did not ruin the flawed relationship with her father. Instead, it led to the truth she so desperately needed and a better relationship with her father. Lily’s leaving was the best thing she could have done for herself. Both Chris and Lily left with similar intentions but saw different results. Chris reached the realization that isolationism is not the best policy, and Lily was brought into a world filled with love and truth.
Kate ran away to a whore house and there she tortured and blackmailed many important men in the community. These man could not stop coming back, as though she had some power over them. All the while Adam was home trying to deal with the heart break of Kate leaving and her almost killing him.

Kino struggles to get away and while doing so he stabs one of the men and kills him. Juana finally gets on her feet and begins to make her way home. She sees Kino lying on the group hurt with another man dead next to him. She hauls the dead man into the brush and tends to Kino. She says they must run away immediately because of what a terrible crime Kino committed. Kino refuses at first, but then agrees. Juana runs back to the house grabs Coyotito, while Kino goes to the beach once again to prepare his boat, but realizes that the group of men made a hole in it. He becomes full of rage and kicks at the water. He then tells Juana what happened and they decide to hide at Juan Tomas’s house for a while.

Hannah the main character, Hannah starts off at a dinner with her family which she thinks is very boring where Hannah who thinks she drank too much wine believing that she is daydreaming. Whilst in her mind as she was "daydreaming" Hannah had came into the kitchen to new surroundings very confused she was greeted by a girl named Eva who had greeted her by the name of Chaya. (Chaya meaning life). Hannah soon hears from Eva that it is the year 1942 and that both her parents were very ill and passed away being left for her Aunt Gitl and Uncle Shmuel to take care of her. Hannah learns that she is no longer in her home town. Hannah with Eva go to a wedding with all the family where half way through the wedding nazis come. It all makes sense to Hannah now because the nazis come and take them to a concentration camp which for some reason Hannah knew what was about to happen once the nazis got closer. The nazis came closer soon stopping right in front of them they get out of their trucks as they start pushing them all into the back of the trucks separating them. As Hannah drives off with Eva and everyone else in the trucks with bars for windows and the rest closed in left while watching helplessly as their houses and belongings burn to the ground never to be seen again.
In Chapter 13, Lily learns that her mother indeed ran away from the both of them to August’s home and she’s given proof of this because she’s given some things that were in her possession. Lily becomes angry because most of her life she has had to live with the guilt of killing her own mother. She becomes hopeless, and it shows when she says “I drew into myself and stayed there for a while… I spent most of my time down by the river, alone. I just wanted to keep to myself” ( Kidd 277 ). Lily contemplates whether she should forgive her mother for leaving, whether her mother even loved her in the first place. She calls herself “the girl abandoned by her mother… the girl who kneeled on grits” ( Kidd 278 ). These events cause her to finally let go of her mother and live her life without guilt taking

The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment which was conducted between 1932 and 1972 where four hundred illiterate and semi-illiterate black sharecroppers in Alabama recently diagnosed with syphilis were sampled for an experiment that was funded by the U.S Health Service to prove that the effect of untreated syphilis are different in blacks as opposed to whites. Since the last time I have journaled I have finished Magic hour by Kristin Hannah and Just Listen by Sarah Dessen. Magic Hour is about a feral child who was found in the small town of Rain Valley. It follows the police chief, Ellie, and her sister, Julia, while they try to figure out how to help this child. Julia is a psychiatrist who is working to get the girl to speak, while Ellie is trying to find whom the girl belongs to. Just Listen is about Annabel, the youngest sister of three in the Greene family. The family seems like they have a perfect life. The girls all model, Annabel is popular at school, they live in the perfect neighborhood, and they appear to everyone like the perfect family. The reader quickly discovers that this is not the
