I saw my friend Kalli snarl at me from across the playground when I went outside for recess. My smile had turned into a frown after she had snarled at me, I wasn’t sure what I had done to upset her. Suddenly, she raced up to the top of the slide and blocked the doorway of the dark blue hut. Kalli and I are best friends, I didn’t know why she was doing this. After that, the two of us yelled at each other about why and why I shouldn’t be allowed into the hut. Before long, we ended up not talking for two whole days just because of some foolish argument. Kalli and I probably could have used those two days to do something fun like riding our bikes, or playing games. It wasn't worth it. After Kalli wouldn't let me into the blue hut, our friend Samantha …show more content…
Kalli and I did everything together, why wouldn't she let me in there or at least make an exception for me? As I leaned my hand against the blue hut, I asked, “Well why is it girls only, what if I want to join in?” All of a sudden, I felt Kalli’s little hands push against my chest as I stumbled backward. “You just can't!” She shouted. My fists clenched as I screamed, “Then fine! You’re not allowed to see my dog anymore!” I could see tears in Kalli’s sky blue eyes. She loves my dog so much, it was as if the world was ending for her. Samantha gets annoyed whenever Kalli and I argue so she went down the slide and over to another group of people because she didn’t want to deal with Kalli and I. Soon after, Kalli and I both stormed off in different directions and then ended up not talking to each other for two days until we finally forgot about it and had both moved on. However, those two days felt like an eternity, I had nothing to do. I was stuck at home flipping through channels on the T.V., and the only thing that I wanted to do was do something with
He turned his head toward me and peered at me through swollen eyes. “I begged her not to go with him,” he said quietly. “Do you hear me, I begged her!”
Rena Cohen had returned from camp high-spirited, anticipating her long-awaited senior year of high school. With only two days left to catch up with her friends, Rena called Malka Koenig and Lizzy Zimmerman and set up to see them at Cafe Bonjour. She couldn’t wait to hear how Malka enjoyed her lessons in computer programming and how Lizzy enjoyed her stay in camp. At the cafe, Rena realized something was wrong. Lizzy and Malka looked uncomfortable around each other and after just a few minutes, Malka got up and walked out. Lizzy refused to tell Rena what was wrong, so Rena got up and left too. When school began, things only got worse. Malka insisted that Rena was her best friend, Lizzy insisted that Rena was her best friend, and Rena wasn’t so sure she was friends with either of them. One thing was for certain: they were no longer the inseparable threesome everyone envied. As her year progressed, Rena grew more and more distant from her once undisputed friends. Their silence baffled her and she felt lost in the crowd; by twelfth even the loners had found their place in the grade. Malka became close friends with Tzipporah since they were both G.O. heads. Lizzy became friends with a girl named Riva. One day Malka approached Rena and told her she wanted to tell ...
Everything was going great at Oakville farm, I mean everything was normal and okay how it should be if you don’t count that the fact Donna came home late last night. She came home around two or three o’clock in the morning when it was pitch black outside, and believe me this isn’t the first time it ever happened either, maybe it’s not that big of a deal to you but to me it is, Donna here is the farmer’s daughter. While Mr. Salem is away she’s the one in charge of us,and because she’s the one in charge of us we haven't eaten in two days! Mr. Salem always made sure we were cared for, and was handled with love but , Donna on the other hand she just doesn’t care. There’s a lot of us here on the farm, we have a variety of animals here like horses,
at her. *At no time was the dog restrained by a leash. Mrs. Villari nearly fell back, but
There I was in the middle of it. I was in the middle of a miniature yet very powerful fight between Vonetta and Fern. I am usually the person that stops the fighting between them however this time I decided not to. I sat there quietly between the fight and their screaming. This time I was not going to break up the fight. This time Cecile was going to break up this fight motherly. After a very short while of Vonetta and Fern’s fighting she came in angry. She wasn’t just angry she was enraged. “Delphine, why didn’t you stop them!” I stood their paralyzed with no answer trying to leave my throat. “Answer me!” Cecile screeched enraged. Yet again I stood there with no answer. I didn’t know what to do. However, this is what Cecile decided to do. She grabbed Vonetta and Fern and separated them like a mother would do except she did more harshly. Then she glared at me while separating them for a second, shook her head, and I knew at that moment, trouble tornado alley was coming my way like a bulldog.
“Ding”, the bell had just come alive with a mighty ring, ending the last day of school. I began shoveling the materials from my trainwreck of a locker into my bag when a close friend of mine approached me. She began bragging about the birthday party she was planning. Her arrogance annoyed me because she did not invite me, claiming that I wouldn’t know anybody. Honestly, she probably was scared of what I would do to her reputation. All she ever thought about was herself, with no regard for others. This wasn’t the first time it happened, and this pattern began to anger me, I deserved better. And that is when I decided I didn’t need her, I left her to live her own life. I felt as free as a bird but she was left alone like Scrooge. My friend
“You’re not going to take care of her any more.” As I was saying this I looked Daisy in the eyes.
I saw her cry so many times throughout the last two years of high school and every time I did I’d always make sure to go over to her house after softball practice. I always wanted to make sure she was okay and if I couldn’t go over I would call her after and just listen and let her vent. The first time I decided to go over was pretty nerve wracking because we weren’t entirely friends yet. We talked and laughed together in class and I would come over to work on homework with her but it wasn’t ever for anything not school related so I was really uncertain on coming over unannounced. I eventually made up my mind and picked up whataburger meals with milkshakes and went over. I didn’t know what I was expecting but it certainly wasn’t what I saw because when I got there she looked completely fine and I was expecting some form of emotional mess. This was a type of Atypical dissonance because I had begun to expect her to be crying all the time but as I got to know her I learned that her parents weren’t really involved in her personal life and they always expected perfection. I finally realized that all those times I saw her crying at school were because she wasn’t able to cry at home. Eventually after realizing this and I knew she was upset I would pick her up and we’d get food from the drive-thru so we could sit in the car, talk, and
It was silent as Bill Hutchinson went over to his wife Tessie and force the slip of paper out of her hand. It had a black spot on it. Bill Hutchinson seemed as if he had no heart or compassion for Tessie as he raised up the slip of paper, that created a general sigh of relief from the crowd, But Tessie was afraid you could hear it in her voice as she screamed, ‟Please no this isn’t fair!” As they back her into a corner her. ‟ No stop please I have a family.” or so Tessie thought they were her family, but she thought to herself would family do such an inhuman thing?, but as for the rest of the village they were relieved as everyone in the village started to grab stones. Little Davy Hutchinson with no clue what was going on runs to his mother,
Summer had just begun; we were enjoying our first few stress free weeks of summer, speaking of summer assignments we received and vacations that were going to be had. It must’ve been at least two in the afternoon since I never get up before noon during the months I have off from my education, but my best friend and I had been hanging out for a while leading up to the trip to Dunkin’ Donuts. We were just minding our own business when abruptly, my friend quivered in her seat, her eyes wide with fright.
The night before, I didn’t practice my English so I knew what to say. By now, I knew most of the words, so I would just let my heart guide me. Besides, my cramped old house, which is actually just a junky garage in an abandoned alley, is too small to let out my feelings. Once I got to school after a cold walk in the snow, I placed myself by her locker and waited. Fourteen minutes had gone by, and still no sign of Lily. I only had a minute to get to class now, so I hurriedly collected myself and ran to my locker. I was disappointed, knowing that without Lily here, it would be the hardest day of school. I opened my locker and to my surprise a note fell to the floor. I quickly picked it up and gazed at the neat handwriting that clearly spelled my name.
The rhythmic laugh of the kookaburra can be heard as the glistening heat from the Australian summer sun shines, baking my skin. Thin trees bow to the command of the cooling breeze as it passes by, carrying with it a faint scent of lavender from the pastures. T’was a typical summer's day here in the outback. I lie in bed, contemplating whether I should get up or not. Lying here, I think of the offer Ned proposed to me earlier.
The bell rang and we had to go to homeroom. My friends and I are in the same homeroom and we like to sit in the back and talk about the latest gossip. Georgia didn’t want to though, so Erin had to sit out of this
It’s chilly november and i’m standing silently in a line outside of the bland looking alternative school, with my belt and book in hand, across from my two best friends Isabelle and Carlie, waiting to go through the metal detector. We know what we’ve done is stupid, but it’s done and over with. There’s nothing we can do to get ourselves out of here. For now we must pretend to hate each other, not get too close to each other, or even look at each other in the presence of our parents.
And… and...¨ Doggo replied. Jamie sympathetically said, ¨Say no more, I will find a way to get you out.¨ ¨Mother come quick!¨ Jamie exclaimed. ¨What happened, are you okay?¨ Mother
