When I say “various nuances” what I mean is politics as such is literally played out in every nook and corner of this world, for instance take the example of a normal household where the existing members are the mother-in-law, father-in-law, son and his wife. Now in such a household we cannot expect that everything is hunky and dory between the members, there will be this internal conflict of whose say should have a certain amount of weightage and who should have the final say. Blood and racial purity essentially means maintaining a racial hierarchy and allowing only a group of people to procreate and what racial purity ensures is the superiority of one race and the growth of only that group of people who belong to the certain race. Now, if you take the example of racial purity in the African diaspora many instances might hit your head but the hard hitting one is that of the Rwandan genocide. What happened in the Rwandan genocide was that a government whose majority consisted of group called the Hutus went on a rampage, killing another section of people called the Tutsis. We can clearly see that even killing people of your own group or your own tribe does come under the ambit of playing the ‘game’ of blood and racial purity. One Race One Blood: A Biblical Answer to Racism by Ken Ham and Charles A. Ware addresses mainly the topic of racism and other closely related topics in recent times. In chapter 1, they explained the reason for the development of racism. They claim racism manifested greatly when Charles Darwin produced his book, The Origin of Species, on evolution. In chapter 2, Charles Ware is introduced. He explains how people misinterpret the Word of God to support their thought process on allowing racism. Racism, a plague in our society that has infected our society, and still does today, has been rooted by the premise of Darwinian evolution. Racism existed long before Charles Darwin made his mark in history; however, in the book One Race One Blood, the authors explain how there is a very close relationship between the theory of evolution and what we know today as racism. The authors intent of this book is to realize the effects of a specific ideas that has shaped racism. Mr. Ken Ham describes ideas as being seeds, “…they might seem small; they might seem insignificant; they might even go unnoticed by all expect those who hold them in the moment…” (7). Charles Darwin’s idea (or seeds) of his evolutionary has taken root and made its way into public schools, the government, and even our churches. Although, racism did not originate with Darwin, Ken Ham claims that, “he did more than any other person to popularize it” (22). His evolutionary ideas have fueled racism and this is what racists use to justify their hatred toward those who are different from them (8).
In every genocide, minorities and those who were seen as "different" or as the "other" were targeted and blamed for massive systemic issues in society. This includes religious minorities, or groups of people with religious beliefs different from the mainstream. In the holocaust, the main group that people think of getting murdered are Jewish people. In America, essentially everyone is classified in terms of race in a way. We are all familiar with terms such as Caucasian, African-American, Asian, etc. Most Americans think of these terms as biological or natural classifications; meaning that all people of a certain race share similarities on their D.N.A. that are different and sets that particular race apart from all the other races. However, recent genetic studies show that there’s no scientific basis for the socially popular idea that race is a valid taxonomy of human biological difference. This means that humans are not divided into different groups through genetics or nature. Contrary to scientific studies, social beliefs are reflected through racial realism. Racial realists believe that being of a particular race does not only have phenotypical values (i.e. skin color, facial features, etc.), but also broadens its effects to moral, intellectual and spiritual characteristics.
