In the past one-hundred years, there has been many significant figures that have drastically changed the cultural world. One particular person, Bill Gates made a significant change in the technological world. Born on October 28, 1955, in Seattle, Washington, Bill Gates is internationally renowned for his foundation with Microsoft Corporation, the most important company to the multinational world. Bill Gates is just one influential person to the world, that has many contributions that have left a legacy to the world.

Bill Gates is known for his many software innovations that changed the world, he is also known for his many donations and investments to various different things. The most obvious contribution Bill Gates has made was his foundation of Microsoft Corporation. Microsoft is known for its variety of software feats that are important to modern day. The most notable of these accomplishments is the innovations in computers. Microsoft has changed the world through software such as Microsoft Windows, which most people are familiar with. Windows allows people to store, share, present, and edit information, as well as giving people access to the world wide web.(Rouse Margaret) In addition to software, Microsoft is efficient in hardware such as the gaming console Xbox, and a variety of line of tablets.(Microsoft Hardware) These additions to the world allows people to use such innovations as a medium to the technological world. Along with Microsoft, Gates is a cofounder of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a non profit organization that Gates is operating alongside his wife, Melinda. This Foundation is known for its many donations to multiple things. Currently the foundation is working to fight infectious disease in select countries where it is an issue. A legacy is something that someone is remembered by that leaves an impact on people. We believe that Bill Gates’ legacy is left through his generosity and the way he changed the world through computers. When you think of Bill Gates, the first thing that comes to mind is computer software. Without Bill Gates, I probably wouldn’t be typing this paper right now. Most people would say that computers are one of the most important recreational items to have, with that being said, this puts Gates’ legacy much higher.
