We as well know that Bill Gates, of course, was not a leader by birth, nor did any creator intentionally or accidentally bestow on him the knowledge he possesses today, but rather by his acquirement of experience throughout his lifetime. So here I present you the path that gave us the Bill Gates we have today. Firstly, Bill Gates was fortunate enough to be born into a fine and educated family, where his parents were an educator and a lawyer. He had the privilege of all the essential necessities, such as clothing, food, and water sources which many other kids do not have. More than that, his family was wealthy enough to buy him toys and games and other things that would be far too extravagant for others.
As soon as college was over, he got a job with IBM, and “invented the IBM disk operating system.” (67, Ferrell) As he got older, he began building his own company with his middl school friend Allen because he needed help with the company’s organisation and development. They named it Microsoft. “He made Windows to improve computers, making it easier to type and download programs.”
His father was an excessive lawyer, and his mother was the daughter of a well-to-do banker. He was in a public school but his parents moved him to a private school at the beginning of his seventh grade year. Two years later the school began a computer club. At the time, the majority of schools didn’t have access to computers or computer programming but Bill’s school did. Many opportunities were presented to Bill, but the major one was that Bill Gates was sent to that one private school with a computer programming club and his parents had the money to pay for it all.
Stevenson (2005, para. 2) notes that at the age of twelve, Gates “became interested in computers while working with the school’s room-sized computer... Gates began writing his first computer programs when he was thirteen.” Based on his father’s impact, his parents wanted him to be a lawyer, but he still spent more of his time in the computer lab than in class after he had enrolled at Harvard University (“Bill Gates Biography,” 2015). Also, according to the article “Bill Gates Biography”, his friend Paul Allen made a huge impact on Gates’s life. Reading about the Altair 8800 motivated them; soon after, Allen was hired at Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems (MITS) and Gates soon dropped out Harvard to work with him.
