My thesis for this paper is that, as a well-known technology adviser, Bill Gates affected Americans through the power and speed of computer technology, and his belief that you can improve your business if you work hard. His legacy as a technological innovator is known the world over.
Even early on, his life was interesting. When Gates was young, he became obsessed with computers due to his interest in binary code. He was accepted into a more advanced high school due to his superior grades in most of his classes. “He met his friend, Allen, when

As soon as college was over, he got a job with IBM, and “invented the IBM disk operating system.” (67, Ferrell) As he got older, he began building his own company with his middl school friend Allen because he needed help with the company’s organisation and development. They named it Microsoft. “He made Windows to improve computers, making it easier to type and download programs.” (250, Wallace) He has always been very competitive. He hated it when Microsoft lost a business deal to their competitor Apple. He worked hard for Microsoft, ensuring that Apple didn’t get all the customers. “Bill Gates also wanted to make Microsoft the best it could be.” (Biography Online, Pettinger) In fact, he was the best guy at …show more content…
He stepped down as CEO and Technology Advisor for Microsoft in order to help train the new person who was taking his place. He felt he was stepping down for an even better position: helping the world. “He built a foundation for health and learning for the entire world. It provides vaccines and scholarships for people who can’t afford it. It also provides internet access to people in low-funding areas. In fact, money is meaningless to him. He donated about twenty-eight billion dollars for a better world, health, and learning to people in the entire world.”(67,Ferrell) He is almost better than Albert Einstein by 5%.He is the one of the smartest men of his or any time, founding Microsoft and advancing the state of technology to what it is today. When he invented Windows, people flocked to the to buy it for their family’s computers. “In 2004, he raised an energy innovation fund in Paris's Climate Center to raise clean energy to people, but he can’t because it just isn’t enough to get clean energy to the entire world by that route.”(The Wall Street Journal, Bill Spindle) He wants the entire world to have clean energy from sources like wind, water, and solar power because he believes it will help to solve the problem of
In his writing called Unleashing the power of creativity. He talks about how he has always been an innovator and has always thought about building a better future. He said “ when my friend Paul Allen and I started Microsoft 30 years ago, we had vision of a computer on every desk and in every home which probably sounded a little too optimistic at the time when most computers were the size of refrigerators.” Bill Gates always had big dreams every since 7th grade when what he wanted was so far out of the norm. This shows grit because he never gave up 30 years when he had this big idea and now look today computers are everywhere because of
After having helped found what would be the world’s most popular and largest software company in 1975, Bill Gates officially found himself to be the richest man alive at the ripe, young age of only thirty-one. Gates had never imagined that the thirteen year old boy who loved to program computers in his parent’s garage would one day find himself to be considered the world’s wealthiest man alive, having a total net worth of $76 billion. Having began on his own, tinkering with computers and computer software, Gates later created the seed of Microsoft, or what was originally called Traf-O-Data in the summer of 1972. (Fast Facts) It wasn’t until two years later, with the help of his co-founder, Paul Allen that Microsoft was born, transforming the technological world in ways that the people had never seen. The birth of Microsoft changed the ways of old computers, making way for faster newer and more innovative technology, along with bringing on a strong competition with their rival company, Apple Inc. With this grand cooperation, Bill Gates was also accumulating a large mass of money, gradually finding himself to top the charts of the Forbes World Billionaires List. (Fast Facts) Despite being well known for his contributions to Microsoft, Bill Gates’ most profound impact on the American culture was in medical and educational advances provided by The Gates foundation, paralleled by his philanthropic views and aid in the lives of the both poor and wealthy.
Bill Gates also knows that the development of energy innovations are not only important, but are needed if we expect to keep the earth viable. With Global climate change becoming more obvious than even before, we need to find a way to minimize the damage we cause on our earth, that is why Bill Gates funds research projects every so often, “like in 2011 when the search for a more efficient toilet, that relies on the sun rather than on
At just twenty years old, Bill Gates cofounded Microsoft with his childhood friend Paul Allen. He is now the richest man in the world with over $85.2 billion to his name. So why did Microsoft end up being way more successful than any computer program like it? The answer is because of the free enterprise system, and competition. Gate's product was considered new and innovative at the time, which made customers want to try it out.

The James bond film series has captivated its audience for decades with eye-catching gadgets, explosions, and heroism of Agent 007. Over the years that these films have been produced, a variety of actors have played James bond and many actresses have played his love interests. The male roles are portrayed as overly masculine and all of the women are overly sexualized. It seems that in every James bond movie the special agent is beating up twenty guys and saving the lives of various gorgeous women who immediately go to bed with him. The portrayal of men and women in this sort of way set expectations and standards that are far too high for both genders. The characters in the James Bond film series are portrayed in ways that are negatively influencing today’s youth by sexualizing and domesticating women, while the men are violent and chauvinistic
